Hey guys I am looking to replace my 96 suburban and found a really clean 06 avalanche LT with leather interior it is loaded and it has 75,000 miles on it. I have just under 200,000 on my suburban. Is it worth buying or just buy something newer.

Thanks in advance.

I've had the 06 LT for four years now and still love it. I use it every day for work, use it for hunting. Drive it 10k into the bush for hunting and I don't worry about the brush scratching the truck because of the cladding. Fold the back seats down, drop the mid gate and you have a covered work truck, close mid gate and lift the back seats you have a comfortable SUV for 4-6 adults.

I just bought an '07 Avalanche a few weeks ago. I haven't owned it long enough to really answer your question but I can just tell you that i really love the Avalanche. The only thing I can tell you is that there was a body style change that started in '07 and they look pretty much the same as now. It's a matter of preference as to which one you prefer.

In addtion to the body style change in 07 as Freebird mentioned, they have an updated interior as well. I like the 07 and newer interior better. More moderm and better materials. This change is across the Avalanche , Tahoe and Suburban for 07 and up. Look at an 07 before you decide. Fuel economy is somewhat improved as well, particularly on the models with the 5.3 with active cylinder shutdown. 18-20 highway which isn't too shabby for a vehicle that size. Not sure when that became available.

My '07 does have the active fuel management. I'm not sure if it was the first year of that or not. Mine also has the optional flex fuel engine though I NEVER plan to run E85 in it.

My Dad has an 07 he bought a couple years back to pull a 28' trailer. His only has 65,000 km (less that 40,000 miles).

Likes the truck but wants to sell both truck and trailer. It is more than he needs or wants
