Hannigan Fender/Stone guard

Does anyone know if/where fender/stone guards are available to fit the Hannigan trike?

I've spent a few minutes searching and I can find them for every trike kit but Hannigan. I spent an hour this morning washing the trike and cleaning bug guts off the bike. I'd like to avoid gravel chips and such to the paint job.

I have not run across any either. You may want to look at the 3M stone guard, it's a clear plastic film that sticks on.

Checked out the 3M Paint protection film, watched a couple of videos. I would have to have that professionally installed. Closest installer is Morristown, TN. May give them a call for a price guesstimate. Thanks.

Your left side WILL get the most dings. Do it now if your going to do it.

as you will have a rock ding by the end of the week , I just gave up

and its been 3 years now. think I have about 10 rock dings now

figure one day I will just fix them all at the body shop

the problem I had with the film is the way our fenders are formed.

A good installer should have no issues with the shape of your fenders...they can cover car mirrors and some pretty intricate hoods and bumpers on cars. Just sayin.

The nearest 3-M installer to me is about 100 miles. Any idea/guesstimate what the cost might be for such an installation?

I am betting around $175 or more. just a guess though.

I don't have a trike but just a thought maybe Ace High Leather could make you guys something. I'm assuming your talking about the padded rear fender covers that I see on so many trikes

Just went to the Ace High Leathers website and looked at some of her work and products. Very nice, very nice indeed. Looking at the work, the design, the detail etc, coupled with no price indications that I could find, I'm gonna guess that the price for a pair of stone guards would be completely out of my price range.

If the leather is to expensive maybe and upholstery shop could fab some for you. Take them a few pics of what you want. A one off custom job would be more expensive then if a few of you hannigan riders got together for several sets.

I agree with Playboy! I would be interested in a pair as my fenders are already machine gun riddled...

From what I have seen having them covered like that , the paint

starts to wear off. kinda of like having a bra on the front of your

car, not so hot for the paint job. I just figure the cost of 3M I will

wait a few more years and have the fronts re-painted for that cost :-)

try a local auto body shop they put it on cars and trucks after repairs

i had a friend with a goldwing trike who went to rhino linings [http://www.rhinolinings.com.au/auto/ ] they masked up the bike and sprayed the guards cost about 40$ and looked very nice and should never have to worry about stones again

Went to the US website for Rhino and found a dealer close to where I work. I may check them out...

Interesting, Never considered that type of solution. The "blow up the trucks" demo was a good indication of the toughness. I'd like to see some good photos of the finished product on a trike or two. That's a choice that would last forever so you'd better be sure before you commit to it.
