1BigDog Posted May 27, 2012 #1 Posted May 27, 2012 While looking for a part on a Yamaha website I saw that the loyal and trusty cassette player is no longer available.........now they can go on and make a new RSV finally!!!!
mini-muffin Posted May 27, 2012 #2 Posted May 27, 2012 I think they just ran out of cassette decks finally.:crackup: Margaret
steamer Posted May 27, 2012 #3 Posted May 27, 2012 I wunder if the guy that made that intial order for 1,000,000 cassette players still works for Yamaha?
Guest scarylarry Posted May 27, 2012 #5 Posted May 27, 2012 I went to yammy site and they still show on the 2012 s model
djh3 Posted May 28, 2012 #6 Posted May 28, 2012 You know, with technology what it is I just don't know why someone dont make an mp3 that uses the same harness connection so you could pull out cassette and plug in mp3. I know they make one to swap with cd player. But if you pulled the cassette there might be room for say your phone.
flb_78 Posted May 28, 2012 #7 Posted May 28, 2012 I went to yammy site and they still show on the 2012 s model I would bet the Ruffy was looking in the parts fiche.
Guest scarylarry Posted May 28, 2012 #8 Posted May 28, 2012 Me too...I don't see them dropping this that easy
Kirby Posted May 28, 2012 #9 Posted May 28, 2012 You know, with technology what it is I just don't know why someone dont make an mp3 that uses the same harness connection so you could pull out cassette and plug in mp3. I didn't try it when I installed my Venturemp3 player, but supposedly you can use the plug for the cassette player or the CD player plug.
Guest Posted May 28, 2012 #10 Posted May 28, 2012 I would bet the Ruffy was looking in the parts fiche. Give the man a Kewpie doll!!! Stadium parts fiche showed them as no longer available. So, maybe some dealers have some in stock, for whatever god forsaken reason, but if they have to be ordered.....your SOL.
Freebird Posted May 28, 2012 #11 Posted May 28, 2012 LOL...I don't know why anybody would want to replace one but if they did, I'll bet there are plenty of them around here from those who have removed them.
JohnMidnight Posted May 30, 2012 #14 Posted May 30, 2012 A RSV with a current VMAX engine touring tuned.................. wow... Maybe... see a return of the Venture Royale style!
djh3 Posted May 30, 2012 #15 Posted May 30, 2012 NAW I think you could be right. Big v-twin air cooled seems to be the trend. Part of what turned my off from the whatevr they call it Yamaha with the bat wing and bags (street glide styling) was they had no radio or intercom features and charged extra for your mp3 hook up.
MiCarl Posted May 30, 2012 #16 Posted May 30, 2012 LOL...I don't know why anybody would want to replace one but if they did, I'll bet there are plenty of them around here from those who have removed them. They probably haven't sold one from the parts warehouse in the last 10 years. 95% of the ones in service could fail and no one would ever notice.
