Jethroish Posted January 11, 2008 #1 Posted January 11, 2008 Just put some JM's in mine and wife helmets. My wife's bike does not have a radio. Anyone know of a way (adapter cord) to connect the 5-pin to an MP3 player?
BuddyRich Posted January 11, 2008 #2 Posted January 11, 2008 I'll see if I can make something up for you if nobody finds one. Its not to hard.
Jethroish Posted January 11, 2008 Author #3 Posted January 11, 2008 I'll see if I can make something up for you if nobody finds one. Its not to hard. That would be sweet. When 2 up on my bike, it's not a problem. I guess it is not much more than getting the RCA jack wired to the correct 2 wires of the 5-pin.
BuddyRich Posted January 11, 2008 #4 Posted January 11, 2008 Actually you want a female 1/8 in stereo jack to a 5 pin female don't you? Since the helmets headset is male and most mp3 players use a 1/8 jack ?

BuddyRich Posted January 11, 2008 #6 Posted January 11, 2008 I have some female 5 pin connectors and a male stereo. I'm in CA this week so when I get back to San Antonio I'll fix up something. You just need like 3 ft long ?

That is actually the reverse of what I am looking for.
Rick Porter Posted January 12, 2008 #9 Posted January 12, 2008 I bought a cord for my wife's bike from Sierra Electronics. Plugs into the I Pod and then into the helmet cord. Their phone is 800 338 6938
alounsbe Posted January 13, 2008 #10 Posted January 13, 2008 I am going to be out of the state for the next week on business but when I return I can post the pin outs for both of the plugs if you want to make your own. It isn't very hard and only costs a few bucks for the parts. Just let me know if you want them. Alan
midnightventure Posted January 13, 2008 #11 Posted January 13, 2008 Here is a PDF file that shows the pinouts.
