XV1100SE Posted May 20, 2012 #1 Posted May 20, 2012 I'm in the habit of leaving my cb on with squelch set to around 16 when I ride, even if I'm not in a group. Just wondering... how many other's leave their cb turned on in case they come across another Venture rider going the other way?
Brake Pad Posted May 20, 2012 #2 Posted May 20, 2012 I only turn mine on if I come up on a truck, that I had been riding with for a few miles. just to chat. a few years ago I stayed with a truck from northern Ga. to West Palm Beach, fl.
MikeWa Posted May 20, 2012 #3 Posted May 20, 2012 I leave mine on all the time. However I usualy monitor channel 23. Mike
star4772 Posted May 20, 2012 #4 Posted May 20, 2012 Why would you monitor any other channel but 19 when your riding alone, don't you want to know what is going on down the hwy? Just a thought. If your riding in a group then another channel would be the right choice so your away from all the trucker's. When things look to be slowing down up ahead of you then you can goto 19 and try and see what's going on. Just a question I guess.
XV1100SE Posted May 20, 2012 Author #5 Posted May 20, 2012 29 is the Venture channel. That's why I usually leave it there. If I'm on the highway/Interstate I'll put it on 19 but only if I want to hear whats going on, but 99% of the time its on 29.
