pofarm Posted May 12, 2012 #1 Posted May 12, 2012 I keep reading that there is supposed to be a vacuum line connected to the #2 intake port on the 96 Royals. It is supposed to go to the ignition (boost sensor?). Can anyone verify this? Mine doesn't have it. All four of the ports are capped. Does anyone have a vacuum line routing diagram? My clymers doesn't have one. I'm thinking someone may have removed it for some reason and that it may be why I haven't been able to remedy my decel backfiring. Thanks!
joboo Posted May 12, 2012 #2 Posted May 12, 2012 All four are capped on the 96 Royal Star, Mine decel pops too, its not really a backfire, it may be annoying to some but it is harmless.
pofarm Posted May 13, 2012 Author #3 Posted May 13, 2012 Mine doesn't just pop. It backfires LOUDLY at times. I have Samson glass pack mufflers on it. I double checked the intakes and found that two of them, one on each side, is bad. I ordered all four yesterday. It's supposed to warm back up the latter part of the week. Hope I get them in time for that. One good thing that came out of it, though... It gave me the opportunity to clean the valley between the cylinders. Kinda hard to get in there with the carbs on it.
