rstacy Posted May 10, 2012 #1 Posted May 10, 2012 The black plastic on my bike has white splotches on it. See picture. I have tried various cleaners, rubbing compounds, and polish to get it off but nothing has touched it. Is this normal for the aging material and other than paint, is there a way to get it black again? Ray
bongobobny Posted May 10, 2012 #2 Posted May 10, 2012 You could try a black sharpie and color in the whole thing. After it dries then take a product such as Meguiars for plastic or Armorall and spray the part but do not buff it out but rather let it dry for a day or two then buff it out, you will almost be able to see yourself in it!
Yammer Dan Posted May 10, 2012 #3 Posted May 10, 2012 "Mothers" Back to Black. At Wally World. Use plenty let it soak in good and redo in a few days. After a few times it will look like new.
Pegasus1300 Posted May 10, 2012 #4 Posted May 10, 2012 Back to Black or if you can find it Black Chrome tho I haven't seen that for awhile.Either one will make it look great again.
rstacy Posted May 13, 2012 Author #6 Posted May 13, 2012 Back to black and Nu-Vinyl didn't do it. It made the black areas really nice but the white spots were still there. I had nothing to lose so I shot it with some ABS black paint that I had. It looks great! Thanks guys. Ray
