cabreco Posted April 25, 2012 #1 Posted April 25, 2012 Trying to find out if this is worth buying. I'm looking for some headsets for communication between the wife & me. The ability to answer the phone is nice. I know the Scala units are great but Spending over $300 for a pair of them is a difficult chew. I know you get what you pay for, but if these units do the job without a lot of noise it would be worth it for $50 a pop. Has anyone bought these? The are NoiseHush N800 Interphone Bluetooth Motorcycle Headset. http://images.nedsgadgets.com/original/91/OFU1675qdE.jpg http://mspecials.com/image/cache/data/N800-10688_p-500x500.jpg
djh3 Posted April 25, 2012 #2 Posted April 25, 2012 I tried doing a search for reviews. Never found anything, so that sort of makes me suspect. It appears to only have one ear speaker and I dont know how close you wil be able to get that so you can hear it. On my 2 Gen I bought some J&M helmet kits for $160 I think it was for the pair. Not bad but could be better. I am thinking about doing something like a "mic mute" so you have to push a button to talk. The system being "on" all the time makes for a woosh background alot.
cabreco Posted April 25, 2012 Author #3 Posted April 25, 2012 I tried doing a search for reviews. Never found anything, so that sort of makes me suspect. My feeling as well. Absolutely no reviews ANYWHERE...good, bad or indifferent. That scares me
Thom Posted April 25, 2012 #4 Posted April 25, 2012 I just got this one , for http://dx.com/bt-interphone-handsfree-bluetooth-for-motorcycle-and-skiing-helmet-5-hour-talk-200-hour-standby-35614 the price it's good
cabreco Posted April 28, 2012 Author #5 Posted April 28, 2012 Well, due to the lack of reviews, I started getting a little leery about this. You know how it is when that little voice in your head (no, not the wife) starts yappin'. "You buy cheap, you buy twice!" A lesson that took decades for me to realize. So I decided to bite & go for the Scala units. They have a much longer talk & standby time & they have better features.
friesman Posted April 28, 2012 #6 Posted April 28, 2012 I am sure you wont regret buying them, i love the Scalas, I can usually get 9 hours or so of run time on them and they just work, with no fussing. Brian

There is a great big review thread and group buy on ADVRider. Most folk who have gone from Scala to Sena prefer the Sena.
cabreco Posted May 2, 2012 Author #8 Posted May 2, 2012 Yeah, Got the Scala team pro set for $137 These things are sweet. Real easy to setup & clear reception. I like em! Got the cigarette lighter charger too!
