Trader Posted April 24, 2012 #2 Posted April 24, 2012 I seem to remember a thread on cleaning it....probably the problem. Unless you've damaged the wire(s) somehow.
reddevilmedic Posted April 24, 2012 Author #3 Posted April 24, 2012 i havnt been able to do a "simple search" since i became a member. am i doing something wrong? duh, obviously, i am. ok, help me pleeeez...
KIC Posted April 24, 2012 #4 Posted April 24, 2012 The best search is to go to the bottom of the search drop down bar, to where it says Google Search. click on the http://www.Venturerider.org button then type in your search. It will then pull up all the threads just in this Forum. It was frustrating for me until I learned that. Good luck.
Trader Posted April 24, 2012 #5 Posted April 24, 2012 My Bad. I went looking and found several threads suggesting that cleaning the switch might solve the problem you are having...but nothing actually showing the "how to". Never done it...but probably not a big deal.
bongobobny Posted April 24, 2012 #6 Posted April 24, 2012 New ones are not that expensive, but usually when they go bad they act open, not shorted! You can ohm out the contacts on a bad one that is open but it will read some resistance, sometimes as low as 10 ohms or so, but they will kill the engine when you shift out of neutral with the side stand up...
