DragonRider Posted April 23, 2012 #1 Posted April 23, 2012 I have been summoned by Coweta County Superior court for jury duty so no work for me today, and maybe a few more this week, get paid by the court, get paid by my employer, not a bad deal. More money to throw at the Venture and getting it back running, maybe some new plastic............can't get safety chrome for these old relics anymore.
djh3 Posted April 23, 2012 #2 Posted April 23, 2012 Depending on how far you have to drive the pay the court deal gives you might cover gas in the cage. lol Something stupid like $18 or 20 bucks. I forget. The wife had like 3 days tied up on jury duty between going down for weeding out process (not paid for) and standing by a day waiting on a call for court date (also no pay) and actual going down to court for trial. Which by the way when she got there shortly after they said " thanks but we dont need you now". Guess it pleeded out.

DragonRider Posted April 23, 2012 Author #6 Posted April 23, 2012 By those standards a person can get rich here, they pay $50.00 a day, get 1 1/2 hour for lunch, the gas wont kill me, I am only 4 miles at the most from the courthouse. Its going to be an interesting week for me, the trial might go for 4-5 days or longer, its a pretty heavy criminal case. Its going to be an emotional one too. I did get some more work done today on the 83, they picked the jury and we were out by 11:00 am. Got a lot done that I didnt think I would get to do till next weekend.

DragonRider Posted April 23, 2012 Author #8 Posted April 23, 2012 I have a co-worker and new VR member, one in the same, helping me right now, but when we get ready to put it back in the frame a third body might come in handy, luckily we got it out by ourselves without doing any major damage to us or the bike, the third body would be very helpful. I will let you know when we are ready to go back in with it. Appreciate the offer. How is your bike coming along? Still need me to help put the motor in?
Venture n Dixie Posted April 23, 2012 #9 Posted April 23, 2012 Not well. Did oil/filter change 2 weeks ago. Tried to go down street and back & she died 100 yards from house like no gas or no spark. Couldn't get it to restart even on a hill. Haven't dived into it yet & don't want to hijack this thread so I'll post about it later... BUT let me know when I can help & I'll drive over.
K-Rider Posted April 23, 2012 #10 Posted April 23, 2012 If you get suckered in to helping Dragonrider just know that you only get one break all day. He allows 30 minutes for lunch. (But I have to admit his wife cooked us up some fine Cajun cooking.) And you never know from one minute to the next weather your going to be a hero or a zero. All kidding aside its been agood learning experience for me. I have never been involved with opening up a motor like we had to. I hope to find a Venture to work on myself. Then I can invite Dragonride over so I can crack the whip. Its been a good time Dragonrider. Hope to meet more VentureRiders in the future. P.S. I think I pulled a muscle in my back last weekend. You might need to get someone else to help put that motor back in.

djh3 Posted April 24, 2012 #12 Posted April 24, 2012 I told the wife when she had to go in to tell the DA "bring the guilty SOB in I'll give him a fair trial". but she wouldnt do it. I dunno, any more the convict would probably beat you home the way the prisions system is anymore.
