DwightGA Posted April 23, 2012 #1 Posted April 23, 2012 Hi All I converted the cassette deck to a storage area this afternoon. It worked out quite nicely which I plan to keep my Ipod and garage door opener in. I followed the the instructions from the following link to ventures.org. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002003&id=386 I attached some photos after the project. Evan Posted April 23, 2012 #2 Posted April 23, 2012 I did the same with my 88VR. Still use the plastic CD player cover, but now it covers a spacious storage area. In my case, I use that area for a bunck of switches and to house my 12 volt plug that are all weather protected by the old CD player cover.
Yama Mama Posted April 23, 2012 #3 Posted April 23, 2012 But how are you playing your cassette tapes? We did the same thing, and keep our I pod in it. Be nice if Yamaha did something different with the area too. Yama Mama
Carbon_One Posted April 23, 2012 #6 Posted April 23, 2012 Nice job. There's many of us here who have done that to the cassette deck area, myself included. I sometimes forget it's there since I never used or opened that door before. Larry
Guest Posted April 23, 2012 #7 Posted April 23, 2012 I did it too. Lined the innards with self stick rubber/foam sheets.
dacheedah Posted April 23, 2012 #8 Posted April 23, 2012 Put an 8 track in that bad boy. I hear ya, I like the idea of the mp3 player that takes a memory stick. I have the ipod in the bag but only use it on trips.
