Bvinson Posted April 23, 2012 #26 Posted April 23, 2012 I will need to pick up a tire on the way back.
slowrollwv Posted April 23, 2012 #27 Posted April 23, 2012 I am ready today, but the billfold isn't. Guess I'll have to go to work instead.
ragtop69gs Posted April 23, 2012 #28 Posted April 23, 2012 "Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair."-Led Zepplin Yeah, but she's probably about 70 years old now
playboy Posted April 23, 2012 #29 Posted April 23, 2012 I just got to the east coast where is everybody:cool10:
eusa1 Posted April 23, 2012 #30 Posted April 23, 2012 Theres 3 out there that i would take....a few more days on the 4th..when do we leave??
friesman Posted April 23, 2012 #31 Posted April 23, 2012 I wouldnt hesitate to go anywhere now,..that ive had 4 years of help and advice from everyone on this forum. In hindsight knowing what I know now,... having my bike in Cailfornia with you guys 4 years ago probably wasnt a good idea as I had just bought the bike and didnt know much about it then. But I met some wonderful people, ended up learning a ton about my bike, and made some lifelong friends,...so the breakdown ended up being a good thing in a lot of ways.! Brian
Wanderer Posted April 23, 2012 #32 Posted April 23, 2012 In a New York minute. If I had the I'd be on the way tomorrow.
Pegasus1300 Posted April 23, 2012 #33 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Yeah I need a good ride to see if the new fork seals are gonna work. Just no money for gas.Oh yes I may have gone to a trike after totaling 2 Royal Stars but I still have my 87VR and I would trust it anywhere. Edited April 23, 2012 by Pegasus1300
Yama Mama Posted April 23, 2012 #34 Posted April 23, 2012 You know I would go yesterday. Of course, this would mean Ron would have to get the bike out of the garage wouldn't it? Sounds like fun, and something I have always wanted to do! Yama Mama:smile5:

dogman Posted April 23, 2012 #37 Posted April 23, 2012 Confidence in the bike absolutely, naive stupidity in myself so I am ready to go anywhere.
icebrrg3rd Posted April 23, 2012 #38 Posted April 23, 2012 Any vehicle I own, I usually make it so they could go cross country if necessary. Not saying that there might not be any issues that pop up along the way, but I'm game. Only three things stopping me from leaving tomorrow - money, work, family. Mostly money. -Andrew
Stache Posted April 23, 2012 #39 Posted April 23, 2012 Yes. Doing a mini-trip next month -St. John's NL to Montreal PQ and back - approx 5000 km total
gscbertrand Posted April 23, 2012 #40 Posted April 23, 2012 6000 KM last year to the west coast and back. The bike and I are ready to leave tomorrow if I had the time and money.
brainfart Posted April 23, 2012 #41 Posted April 23, 2012 with only 110,000 miles on her - wesure would!... right after i replace the flat rear tire... :-(
rickardracing Posted April 23, 2012 #42 Posted April 23, 2012 I would not even hesitate. The only thing then I would have to come back to Michigan.
juggler Posted April 24, 2012 #43 Posted April 24, 2012 I'd ride it across country in a heart beat. Just gotta get tires at some point either before or along the way.
RedRider Posted May 24, 2012 #44 Posted May 24, 2012 100,000 miles on it now. Why stop? Will be installing new tires and taking it to Alaska in July. Never even questioned being able to go anywhere (other than riding on wet gravel. Not going there anymore.). RR

BTW, Alaska has lots of wet gravel... in July.... be careful up there....
JohnMidnight Posted May 24, 2012 #46 Posted May 24, 2012 No. But if I could throw this dude away from my 650, yea. I'll put the new front fender on, hook up the new lights, and bags, and away I go, but I'll need free temporary places to bunk. I got gas money, and emergency money, not stay in a warm bed money! (I've got too much of a to-do list for the Lady to do a cross country trip)
RedRider Posted May 24, 2012 #47 Posted May 24, 2012 But.... would you ride it cross country tomorrow......??? BTW, Alaska has lots of wet gravel... in July.... be careful up there.... If I had the vacation time - Heck Yeah!!! Already have the new shoes in the garage. Spoon them on, and ride away. Might have some difficulty with missing my #2 son's 21st birthday party tomorrow. Oh, and our anniversary tomorrow. And daughter's and #3 son's HS graduation next week. But other than that, I'm out of here. RR
pmelah Posted May 24, 2012 #48 Posted May 24, 2012 if i had a working bike yes but the carbs are a problem at the moment, and money, and work, and family, and money, oh did i mention
FuzzyRSTD Posted May 24, 2012 #49 Posted May 24, 2012 Well, my RSTD, about the same. Yeeeeeeeeep I would do it. Not tomorrow though. I trust my bike to be very mechanical worthy. Fuzzy
Sailor Posted May 24, 2012 #50 Posted May 24, 2012 Yep, would love to ride Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Lobster and fiddle music! Now if we could only get rid of that wasteland in between the two coasts.
