Bvinson Posted January 6, 2008 #1 Posted January 6, 2008 It's January 6th, 75 degrees and the wife & I just got back from a 150 mile ride. Life is Good...
Venturous Randy Posted January 6, 2008 #2 Posted January 6, 2008 I went for about a 50 mile ride today. Temps here in east Tennessee was about 57. Supposed to be in mid 60's tomorrow. RandyA
oldandcrotchety Posted January 6, 2008 #3 Posted January 6, 2008 yeah, 74 here today. nice to go riding in january without so much as a jacket. man, don't you just hate global warming?
DKleven Posted January 6, 2008 #4 Posted January 6, 2008 go ahead and rub it in..............it is about 45 (heat wave), so foggy that you can not see 100 ft in front of the car......but the snow is melting.... and the Packers play next week.........things could be worse(half full glass not half emty)
2Whlsrollin Posted January 6, 2008 #5 Posted January 6, 2008 It's January 6th, 75 degrees and the wife & I just got back from a 150 mile ride. Life is Good... It was a great day, wife and I rode up into Oklahoma. That wind was fierce. Hey, but this warm in January, I'll take it.
MikeM8560 Posted January 7, 2008 #8 Posted January 7, 2008 Burnt a tank of gas myself today though we hit 80º t shirt weather , just got back from dinner at pizza hut
rosebud Posted January 7, 2008 #9 Posted January 7, 2008 73 degrees here today and a nice ride this afternoon.
Rick Butler Posted January 7, 2008 #10 Posted January 7, 2008 Hey Bill, I hope this ride was just you and Melissa. I'd hate to have to report you to the Activity Committee for participating in a "Secret Ride" And speaking of riding, how is your elbow doing? Fine I hope. Rick
BuddyRich Posted January 7, 2008 #11 Posted January 7, 2008 78 and windy here today. Between projects I got couple of hours in. Its amazing how far you have to go to find the right bit for your drill ....
James Ardrey Posted January 7, 2008 #12 Posted January 7, 2008 Great riding weather here and got in about a 3 hr. ride. Some wind but very good riding sunny weather in low 70's. That winter storm from California is supposed to hit tomorrow and may spell serious thunderstorms when the gulf warm and wet air hits that cold west to Northwest winter storm. Like they say in Oklahoma. It you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes. Although they say that about a lot of places. Okies and other midwesterners batton down the hatches!
Jerry W Posted January 7, 2008 #13 Posted January 7, 2008 We rode a little over 100 miles Sunday, a little windy but if it is warm, I am riding this time of year. Gotta' love 60 degree days in January.
texasrices Posted January 7, 2008 #14 Posted January 7, 2008 Went out for breakfast and sat out on the patio overlooking Galveston Bay. After that we headed on out down through Galvestons west end, over San Luis Pass and onto Freeport. Tried to get lost in Danbury and made for home. After getting home and riding over 150 miles, I was ready for a beer. Bright sun, 70 something degrees, wind in our faces. Does it get any better than that??? Oh yeah....and its January.
sarges46 Posted January 7, 2008 #15 Posted January 7, 2008 minus 5 c today...I did not get out for a ride...but I did look at the shed where the bikes are and cried a little!:rotf:Only 4-5 months to go!
BradT Posted January 8, 2008 #16 Posted January 8, 2008 minus 5 c today...I did not get out for a ride...but I did look at the shed where the bikes are and cried a little!:rotf:Only 4-5 months to go! Agree with yah Sarge, But it is pretty sad these guys have all this nice riding weather and there not even riding. (100 miles here, 150 miles there, that's not riding ). EH SWIFTY ? Besides if we had all that nice weather we would never get anything done around the house. SO this small winter break gives us time to get the things done inside. When you southern folks get out for a real ride, come back and tell us about it and don't forget to show us some pictures. Brad
chocking Posted January 8, 2008 #17 Posted January 8, 2008 Way to rub it in...cold with a foot of snow on the ground ... All that's left is the Packers and the Badgers.... I'll be riding in April.. maybe... However certainly interesting checking out all the great info on the site.. Thanks to all who contribute... Planning my summer ride to Glacier and Yellowstone.. 5 months seems forever.
BradT Posted January 8, 2008 #18 Posted January 8, 2008 Planning my summer ride to Glacier and Yellowstone.. 5 months seems forever. We did Yellowstone this past summer worth the trip. Enjoy. BRad

CrazyHorse Posted January 9, 2008 #20 Posted January 9, 2008 We did Yellowstone this past summer worth the trip. Enjoy. BRad Did Yellowstone this past summer in the RV wonderful place but if your riding watch the animals I never saw so many especially dawn/dusk night be careful.
Squidley Posted January 9, 2008 #21 Posted January 9, 2008 I was glad before we totalled the bike that we got a nice ride in to visit with Hipshot and the gang down in Victoria TX about 300 miles round trip. The weather was perfect New Years Eve sunny and about 75.....I'll keep that day in my head until I can get another bike and go for another ride
Stoutman Posted January 9, 2008 #22 Posted January 9, 2008 16 miles to work this morning at 32 degrees. The ground was warm enough that there was no ice where the usual suspects left their sprinklers on. It will be in the 60s when I ride home. That's 32 miles in one day, not bad for January 9th. Might even take Mrs. Sweetie to dinner for her birthday on the back of the bike.
