GolfVenture Posted April 17, 2012 #1 Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) I've attached a couple of pictures of 2 chrome bubbles on my chrome front fender extension. Was wondering if I should just leave it or to take a razor blade and slice it then put some finger nail polish on it. Or maybe some other suggestion. What causes chrome bubbles and do they continue to grow? Edited April 17, 2012 by Golf&Venture
twigg Posted April 17, 2012 #2 Posted April 17, 2012 Chrome lifting like that is usually caused by the underlying steel corroding. If that is the case here then it will not go away. The complete fix is to strip the affected area back, cure the corrosion then have the part re-chromed.
Condor Posted April 17, 2012 #3 Posted April 17, 2012 Since the part is chromed plastic I'd go ahead and pop them and hit the whole part with a clear.
dacheedah Posted April 17, 2012 #4 Posted April 17, 2012 clean it up, put it in a container and cover with coke a cola. The coke will remove the chrome. Rinse off with hot water, dry and rechrome http://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video;_ylt=A0S00Mz3to1PJF0Ab537w8QF?p=chroming+plastic&fr=att-portal&b=22&tnr=21
