#2 on the list hast to be only being able to see the back of a first gen for a short while till it disappears ahead into the distance.

This prob won't help on a Venture, but on the RSTD with all that chrome up front, I put 4-5" of Black Limo tint just above the support of WS and that really helped.

I have blackened all the lower plastic to match the "Midnight" of the bike!

 

 

My thoughts exactly. Use an automotive grade glass tint. Should do the trick if you can make it stick. Can pick this stuff up about just about any auto parts store. I believe Wally World carries it as well.

I guess I'm old and senile but why couldn't you get BuddyRich to make a visor from a piece of tinted lexan or what ever it is he makes his Knee wind blockers out of. But what do I know I ride a 2nd gen without the glare. If not Buddy then the great inventor should be able to come up with something. Could fold down on the sides a bit too from what I looked at on some of those antique Photos.

From what Iam seeing in pics of first gen dash the visor I have pictured in my mind wouldn't need to be Transition which I think would be hard to find and expensive. A dark piece of lexan or whatever they make bug shields out of shape to fit the top of the dash and over hang your gauges held on with maybe a screw on each side and velcro on top. Although I'm not sure what kind of clearance you have in this area for handlebar travel.

Anyone found any solution in reducing the sun glare on the dash.

 

Was riding back home yesterday and the sun glare was really bad.

 

Yes, it's bad, especially in winter.

It's about all you can do.

 

Cars avoid the issue by using concave plastic covers for the cluster. If sunlight does fall directly on it, it is reduced by the curve to a very thin strip of light and the glare is minimal.

 

I supposed a cover could be fashioned that would fit inside the housing, in front of the panel, but it's just easier to look at something else
