Currently doing the second gear major and planning on solid motor mounts for the re-install. Is there a downside to the delrin mounts vs solid metal? They claim to be heat tolerant and provide all the advantages of solid mounts without the vibration. Sounds good but I'd like to hear from some who are using them. Thanks for all the good advice so far...

I dont know anything about the motormounts youre asking about, but feel like I hafta tell you there is no added vibration with the metal motor mounts. Theyve been on my bike about 4 years now with no issues except a much stiffer feeling bike that just feels better in corners. i can sometimes tell if I need a carb synch though as there isnt really a vibration but more like a feeling that something isnt as smooth as it should be.

If you want to check out some bikes with some updates, come and see us in Nelson on the July 1st weekend. Or Ill be thru Kelowna on the 3rd of july if you want a coffee. A coupleof members from Kelowna are riding out to Nelson if youre looking someone to ride with, I can send you some details.

I put in a set of aluminum ones last year and am very happy with them. I don't really notice any more vibration with them than what the stock mounts had.

The bike seems more rigid with them and I have removed the small stiffener brackets that mount across the on either side of the frame that the side covers attach to..

You just about have to remove the motor to get all 6 in, 4 are easy, 2 aren't.

PM SGN and see if he sold all he had made, I haven't seen him listing them, so he is probably out.

I used the Delrin mounts when I did my second gear 3 years ago, handles better, no noticeable vibrations. 84 will still pick up the front wheel in 2nd with no slip!

Delrin is pretty tough stuff. Harken a marine equipment manufacture uses Delrin ball bearings in their blocks, and some of them are rated up to 5000lbs. You should get the same effect as those made out of aluminum, and galvanic corrosion might not be an issue...

If some one would provide me with dimensions on these I could run off a couple thousand in a day or two! No idea what they are selling for but would sure like the opportunity to quote them.
