Guest Zak202 Posted April 1, 2012 #1 Posted April 1, 2012 Does anyone use this, or do you think it will work on my 2001 RSV? http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-swingarm-rear-stand-65620.html
XV1100SE Posted April 1, 2012 #2 Posted April 1, 2012 Don't have it but manual says it supports up to 1,000 lbs.
Snaggletooth Posted April 1, 2012 #3 Posted April 1, 2012 I'd have to vote "NO" on that one. I'll say I've never tried one on a bike the size of ours and not inclined to. My issue would be the bikes weight. These swing arm lifts are useful for dirt bikes and crotch rockets, much lighter, but I'd bet that the lift would bend under the weight of your bike. If it would lift it at all. If it would raise it then you have to be concerned about stabilty. That is a big issue once you have the bike up in the air. So....... My recommendation is go the extra bucks and go with a floor type lift. Even the cheapest ones for HF will do the job safely. IMHO. Mike
RandyR Posted April 1, 2012 #4 Posted April 1, 2012 I don't think it would work. the left swingarm is the driveshaft housing, not = the right swingarm.
Guest Zak202 Posted April 1, 2012 #5 Posted April 1, 2012 Thanks for the advice. I was afraid of the weight issue also. That's why I asked. The knowledge on this site is second to none.
FuzzyRSTD Posted April 2, 2012 #6 Posted April 2, 2012 I would not use this at all on these beasts. Fuzzy
Wanderer Posted April 2, 2012 #7 Posted April 2, 2012 You wouldn't be lifting the entire weight of the bike, but still, if it could be used and I doubt it without adaptations. I wouldn't try it.
Guest Zak202 Posted April 3, 2012 #8 Posted April 3, 2012 I am not going to get one. I was just wondering.
