since the south texas pgr ride capt, already made this public info. i guess it can't hurt to explain here, what has happened.

my brother Ron,(rattlesnake), lost all of his worldly possessions, Tuesday night/wed morning, in a house fire.he and all his family, are safe and sound, thanks to the most generous, and caring townspeople in the world.

the power company's wiring, coming into the house, shorted out and started the fire. firemen /neighbors, were on the scene, within 10 minutes, but couldn't put any water on the house, because of the live wires jumping and popping.

ONE HOUR after the first of THREE phone calls, a serviceman, finally arrived and killed the power at the transformer. by then, it was too late. fifteen water hoses, couldn't save the house.

like i already said, he has NO urgent needs, at this time, however a prayer or two might be useful, if you have any to spare.

thanks for listening.

p.s.

i forgot to mention , all his vehicles and bikes were move to a safe distance, thanks to ron's riding buddy raul!

I don't think we can run out of prayers on this site! Lots more coming from Ga.

It's great that Ron and the family are alright. And sad that he lost those classic bikes and all else. So much that can't be replaced.

But more good news: I foresee alot of of new stuff coming his way from the local power company! Heck, now he can replace that Ultra with a first gen and go fast!

Remind the Snake that we're here for him, even if he only needs to come here and vent!

I am talking to Rattlesnake. He has a victorian house that needs help to be liveable. The kitchen needs rebuilt. He can't hammer a nail straight to save himself. Y'all here in Texas give me a shout. He has been given a doublewide furnished for now. Anyone up for a roadtrip and a eyeball in the A.M.

Figure he could use the support while he goes through the debris.

He lost his computers and all household stuff. Vehicles are ok.

Kids need some clothing and I think Snake needs a boost.

Thats terrible news a house fire is a very devastating thing I'm glad to hear they were not hurt and hope they can get back to a normal life soon.

i used to think, that all of the outpouring of support, here, was between members who had, for the most part, actually met one another!

boy was i wrong!

i am humbled , by every one of you guys, and your offers of help, to someone you have never even met!

i never would have dreamed a place such as this , existed, in real life!

from the bottom of my heart, i thank you , for ron and his wife and girls!

Insurance and hard work will replace most of what's lost. Memories will have to replace the rest. Glad everyone's OK.

Add a few prayers for a friend of mine, Mary. She lost her house to a fire during the ice storm and power outage, but her luck was all bad. Her son died in the fire- he stayed home when everyone moved to Grandma's house to weather the outage.

Prayers are going out to both families from ours. I recently had an Uncle pass, and I have an Aunt in Florida who is close to passing (Lord knows how she is hanging on). I wish I were down in texas so I could help 'Snake, since I just got done doing my kitchen, I'm all primed and ready to go again. Good luck to you all down there, you've got my support (for what it's worth!)

No secrets, but I've been busy- spent 7 & 1/2 days of vacation and most weekends last month, playing lumberjack, cleaning up ice storm debris at my house and Mom's. I still have a lot of trees to prune, but most of my immediate needs are addressed. I'm hoping this wind will bring down some of the hanging limbs; my ladder only reaches 25' & some of them are way beyond that. And I just got finished cleaning up from the January ice storm a couple of months ago. Dammit.

Some things you deal with immediately, others have to wait. Mary's family is still mourning; haven't had the chance to talk with her yet, but a lot of her friends in the office have pitched in. Her trials make mine seem like busy work.

Home's where your family is. Keep yours close, and safe. Accept a helping hand when it's offered; I'm sure there's plenty to be done. Sorry I can't be there to help.
