Naked Rider Posted March 22, 2012 #1 Posted March 22, 2012 06 RSV. when put the stand down in with it in neutral it dies so took the switch off took the back panel off of the switch treid to start it it started moved the handle bars tried to start it again it wont start this has happen to me bofore i just rock the bike while on the side stand and some times its start some times it dont but i hear a loud clicking noise so i took the seat and all the side covers off. the noise is comeing from what i can tell is the starter selanoid i am guessing that that is what it is its under the seat and the positive and negative cables run to it. so can it be that the thing is going bad it has done this off and on for the past two years or is it something else that i should be looking for?
RedRider Posted March 23, 2012 #2 Posted March 23, 2012 Could be the starter solenoid. Had mine go bad early on. Only real problem I have ever had with this bike. And, only time left stranded. Fortunately, I was in my driveway. RR
allwx Posted March 23, 2012 #3 Posted March 23, 2012 Sounds like you should be looking for something other than the starter solenoid. Related to sidestand, handlebar movement, etc... that is what I am reading... sounds like a switch. One of the more knowledgeable here can send you on a more direct path.
krispy Posted March 23, 2012 #4 Posted March 23, 2012 06 RSV. when put the stand down in with it in neutral it dies That would be normal if it was in gear. Makes me think the neutral switch is the problem???
