Old Miner Posted March 22, 2012 #1 Posted March 22, 2012 Hi Guys. Need some help. I am suffering from a bad case of clutch slip. Does the 1999 second gen TF Venture have a clutch spring plate or does it have several, say six small springs like the older machines. I say that it is an spring plate as shown in service manual. 1 in total. The chap who sells EBC parts on E-Bay says it is a set of several springs. As shown below. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11051.m43.l1123/7?euid=e57ef8c1b95d43ddbc200129acc4e73c&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Febaymotors%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D270926331528%26ssPageName%3DADME%3AX%3ARTQ%3AMOTORS%3A1123 Thanks. Neil. Old Miner.
Yammer Dan Posted March 22, 2012 #2 Posted March 22, 2012 Pretty sure it is the one plate type spring. Early 83-85 1st Gens had the individual springs. See SkyDoc for the upgrade. It will cure your slip.
Flyinfool Posted March 22, 2012 #3 Posted March 22, 2012 What Dan said. The guy on ebay just wants to sell those springs. If you fix the slip right away before things wear out you will not have to also replace the whole clutch. Slipping will wear out a clutch.
Rick Haywood Posted March 22, 2012 #4 Posted March 22, 2012 OEM is a diaphram spring which is one spring. The sprinngs the guy on ebay is selling is to a Barnett clutch and pressure plate upgrade kit. SkyDoc on this site sells the kits to solve your problem here is a link http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3763&title=second-genheavy-duty-clutch-spring-upgrade-kit-21&cat=22
