TDunc Posted March 17, 2012 #1 Posted March 17, 2012 How does something so small mess up a wonderful day of riding. 69 degrees here in Charlotte and I can not see for more than a few moments before the tears make it difficult to see. These little particles of pollen are killing my only day to ride for a while and I'm not happy. Medicine is not touching the nose, sinus cavity or eyes...... Here is what it says locally: http://www.wunderground.com/DisplayPollen.asp?Zipcode=28214 Final Word....... THIS STINKS! I hope someone is enjoying the day. Ride a few extra miles for me.
AKRefugee Posted March 19, 2012 #2 Posted March 19, 2012 Don't worry Tom. Sue and I covered it for you. Your welcome
TDunc Posted March 19, 2012 Author #3 Posted March 19, 2012 Yeah yeah rub it in. Sunday the doc changed medicine and at least I can see. Sent from my DROIDX
etcswjoe Posted March 19, 2012 #4 Posted March 19, 2012 Hope you can get it cleared up and get out to ride. I rode up to Columbia and back in a very indirect way Saturday and I was almost yellow from pollen when I got home.
LilBeaver Posted March 19, 2012 #5 Posted March 19, 2012 Yuk. Been there... We had a dust storm about 2 weeks ago and my sinuses are just now finally starting to get back to normal... barf.
Snaggletooth Posted March 19, 2012 #6 Posted March 19, 2012 I feel for ya, I really do. I've had sever allergies all my life. It seems I've out grown most of the the minor ones but still fight the worst of them. Dust and pollen. Great for a rider ya know. I had one summer a while back where took my daugther to a kite festival and ended up sitting the the car with the A/C just so I could breath. Had the doc do some meds for me and they seemed to really help with the breathing except ...... If I spent so much as 20 minutes in direct sunlight my skin would start to blister immediately. My bro-in-law still calls me Captain Scabby. I hate side effects. They finally hit a cocktail that smoothed things out for me. After a couple years it seemed to clear up and it's not as bad any more. Can't wait for the next round. Hope it clears up soon for ya. Mike
TDunc Posted March 20, 2012 Author #7 Posted March 20, 2012 Yep, sunday night I went back to the DOC IN a Box. they told me my ears were full and my sinuses were inflammed (for this I paid $85....duuuuhhhh!) They gave me some more medicine and they told me to minimize my outside exposure....(This said to the middle school baseball coach.) I do have some yellowish/brownish splotches from being outside....It just gives my freckled body a little more character... and yes Kevin, before you say anything, It is the shade of YAK POO!:rotf: Bottom line, I am getting a little better, I can see without tearing and I can breathe some without gaging. Thanks for the comments... I will ride again
