Steve-O Posted March 16, 2012 #1 Posted March 16, 2012 Looking to replace the aluminum boards. For sure the passenger ones that look like crap with all the other chrome...then do the drivers to match. Any suggestions? Don't want to have to change the mounting hardware. Needs to be durable too.
steamer Posted March 16, 2012 #2 Posted March 16, 2012 Yamaha has chrome replacement floor boards front and back. Check with dealer and on line, like, customcruiser.com
Rick Haywood Posted March 16, 2012 #3 Posted March 16, 2012 The floor boards on your bike will polish up reallt nice and shine great. Take some mother aluminum polish to them.
Steve-O Posted March 16, 2012 Author #5 Posted March 16, 2012 Thanks! Didn't know they could shine up that bright! How long does the shine last when you polish them up
StarFan Posted March 16, 2012 #6 Posted March 16, 2012 Steve-o ! These are the replacement chrome ones you see in the picture-not the original ones:) They are expensive but look very, very sharp on the bike.
exrsa1 Posted March 16, 2012 #7 Posted March 16, 2012 Thanks! Didn't know they could shine up that bright! How long does the shine last when you polish them up Sorry Steve-O, those are the chrome replacement Star parts, and not the polished aluminum. Ex
01 Rider Posted March 17, 2012 #8 Posted March 17, 2012 I put Kuryakayn floorboard covers on mine. The model that fit the Roadstar, fit the RSV. Half the price of the Yamaha floorboards. But I did spring for the Yamaha passenger floorboards.
EL Cid Posted March 17, 2012 #9 Posted March 17, 2012 I took my floodboards to my chrome dealer. $25 a piece. Two weeks later they were done. Cheap at $100 ,look great. Leonard:225:

Leonard Can any Chrome guy do these? Did you have to take the rubber off, or did they just mask that area? $100 would be reasonable for me..... That said, I polished up the floorboards (before reading that these were chrome in the pictures above) and they turned out pretty good! Certainly will postpone me buying chrome replacements or getting these chromed...
