mini-muffin Posted January 4, 2008 #3 Posted January 4, 2008 Just think you folks in Florida aren't getting it too bad. Just think of all the snow they've gotten up north. They just want to rub it in. :rotf: I'm sure you all will be warm before long. We're suppose to be up into the 60's by sunday. Margaret

86er Posted January 4, 2008 #8 Posted January 4, 2008 I just heard all the lizards fell out of the trees and froze last night. :rotf: Well at least the endangered mussels are safe! The Corps of Engineers, in it's infinite wisdom, has been sending Atlanta's drinking water to them all summer! I guess mussels are more critical than people!
MikeM8560 Posted January 4, 2008 #10 Posted January 4, 2008 I got up this morning to find it 31º outside, my garden fountian was skimmed with ice and the swales along the road had ice in them. I went down to the marina to check my boat and it was low tide and with the wind blowing out of the north alll the water in the gulf blew out and the boat was prety much hanging on its lines 3 feet below normal. had some ice in the freshwater sink lines. Come on spring that should be this weekend, Ive got a bike rally here to go to sunday
Terry Richardson Posted January 4, 2008 #11 Posted January 4, 2008 Well at least the endangered mussels are safe! The Corps of Engineers, in it's infinite wisdom, has been sending Atlanta's drinking water to them all summer! I guess mussels are more critical than people! Ok 86er, first of all those mussles are world famous oysters out of the Appalachicola Bay. A pack of crackers, some Louisianna Hot sauce and a bag of Appalachicola's finest is a day close to heaven. Have mercy, im drooling on myself. As for the cold here in Pensacola Florida...I went to work on my Venture this morning and it was 21 degrees. Coldest ride I have had in years. Im a born and bread Floridian and not equipped for those nor easters. I gotta go check tomorrow and see if I can find a Jimmy Buffet flowery shirt with longs sleeves and thinsolate. :rotf:
Z Factor Posted January 7, 2008 #12 Posted January 7, 2008 I just heard all the lizards fell out of the trees and froze last night. :rotf: They do fall out of the trees and are in a paralyzed state for some reason. A friend of mine who is a herpetologist catches the large iguanas and sells them. Needless to say when it got cold a few days ago, he had it made.
86er Posted January 7, 2008 #13 Posted January 7, 2008 ...................................................................... A friend of mine who is a herpetologist .............................................................................................. Well, they can't cure that yet, but they can control it with stuff like Coenzyme Q10! I think it helps with the itch.
