In case you know Al in Jacksonville FL I bought his 07 RSV and drove it back to my home today north of Atlanta GA (about 370 miles) My first time to drive one (I've been riding a honda vtx1300). I've been looking into getting an RSV last 6 months or so. Main reason for the RSV was a better ride for the wife, and a few extras for me (cruise control, radio, etc.) bike did great. Drove back roads to get used to it before I got on the interstate, didn't take long, good part of the way back is state highway anyway. I was double extra cautious, didn't want to be famous for wrecking a bike bringing it home. (I know of a guy that did that one time, poor fella) My first impression of how the RSV rides is what you might get if you were to mate a vtx with goldwing, seemed to have traits of both. Got some minor adjustments here and there to make it fit me better, looking foward to many miles on it and I know where to come if I need help with it. :)

Have Fun. Coming off a v-twin you'll need to adjust your thinking. These bikes love rpm's

Wind 2nd out to 50 and then shift to 3rd and take it to 90 and you'll get feeling of what they can do

Unfortunately I got distracted going thru a busy interchange going thru Atlanta watching for traffic, signs, etc, knew I was low on gas but then It ran out and as engine was dying I couldn't find the reserve knob by just feeling so I had to pull over and look (its farther forward than my other bike), had to wind it out getting back into traffic.

Nope, Not a midnight, Al's bike was just like mine , blue and black.

Yep, blue on black. Nice color, I hear its one of the faster colors.

Big, aren't they?!!? Welcome aboard!

thanks, surprisingly nimble for their weight once you get going, I had learned with my vtx to be careful at slow speeds such as making u-turns, etc. Hate to admit this but I turned my vtx over in the middle of the street in Aspen, CO making a u-turn, nothing hurt but my pride.

welcome meach,

A few of us are going to meet at the Fuddruckers in Rome, GA at noon on Saturday. Join us if you can.

Thanks, might try to do that, would like to meet other RSV riders.

Thanks to others for the welcome.
