Cougar Posted March 11, 2012 #1 Posted March 11, 2012 If I remember right the setting is .003 to .007 Correct? I have cleaned mine up and noticed that the gap was getting larger. thinking I will try .004 I have lost my info in this. Thanks for any help. Jeff
Cougar Posted March 11, 2012 Author #2 Posted March 11, 2012 Got it all the rust off the contact points and the Gap Adjusted to 4 .. Just waiting for the correct numbers ..added a light film of Di-Electric grease the the contact points this time around. will see how that works.
Cougar Posted March 11, 2012 Author #4 Posted March 11, 2012 Leo, when my installer did my trike 3 years ago it was there first, when I got it back they had the gap at about .o30 like a spark plug and we couldn't figure out why my cruise control wouldn't work right. talked to Jim and he told me the gap numbers a long time ago. and they will move over time. so if your cruise stops working this is how you set it The outer rotating ring will also rust over time so I clean it at least once a year with a dremal wire wire wheel works very well. If your is wroking fine don't worry over it Jeff
leo3wheel Posted March 11, 2012 #5 Posted March 11, 2012 Guess our installer did a pretty good job. Speedometer is right on the money and cruise control works fine. The only real issue we had is the auxilliary fuel pump did not transfer fuel initially. Installer corrected this without too much difficulty, and we were all set.
Cougar Posted March 11, 2012 Author #6 Posted March 11, 2012 My Speedo is right on the money as well, but over time the cruise sensor will go out of wacky someday, they just use a tiny 10mm bolt for the adjustment. maybe yours will stay just fine over the years :-)

What's the setting? Don't keep it secret
Cougar Posted March 19, 2012 Author #8 Posted March 19, 2012 (.003 to .007) I find that .004 over the past 3 years is the best setting. I think I also will try to place a star washer under the 10MM bolt the next time around. Jeff
Cougar Posted March 19, 2012 Author #9 Posted March 19, 2012 Jay, So when I ask next year please remember
ragtop69gs Posted March 19, 2012 #10 Posted March 19, 2012 Not a problem, I love the google search option. I saw your package being boxed up today, it think you'll like it, it's painted the prettiest pink I ever saw!
ragtop69gs Posted March 19, 2012 #11 Posted March 19, 2012 Oh... and that sensor is from a V-10. I just don't know if it's a Ford or Dodge part.
