Brad and Lona are safely at my sons house in Baton Rouge. We will spend the night here so Brad can check on the bike tomorrow. I was in BR today and was on my way to meet them for a backroad ride home to my house in Bogalusa. What a shock when that call came and I headed straight for them, then on to the hospital. Brad is sore and sure to feel it tomorow but they didn't think anything is broken. Lonna however has a broken clavacil. But as all have said thank God they could walk away. The bike is totaled but I'm so glad that they aren't .
hey kenny ,keep me posted on whats going on. tell brad and lonna they are welcome to stay at our house in st.charles on the way home.i have a trailer, lots of food and a comfy bed.we would love to have them. bill

WE ARE ALIVE!!!!!

....and that is all that matters. 1st off Thank you all so much for the reply's, it truly helps us realise how rich we are and how much we are blessed.

I'll make this a quickie :whistling: We were on I 10 west of Baton Rouge heading to meet up with Kbran and then back to his place in Bogalusa. Clipping along about 70 or so and the rear tire went flat on me. I was able to countersteer it 3 times before I finally lost it. I dont know how fast we were going when it laid down, but it was fast enough to total the bike. I'm not sure if we hit something I didn't see, but the tire was absolutely destroyed.

I am very sore right now, even with the drugs the doc prescribed. Lonna is unfortunately in worse shape than me. She has a broken collar bone and separated her left sholder, she too is very sore....but were alive. I'm not sure whats going to happen, but tomorrow we'll survey the bike and decide what actions we will take.

I can't put into words what I feel right now besides Thank you. Kenny, Beth and their family have been a god send. For those of you that know them, you know just what I'm saying. The people that we have here on this site are some of the most remarkable folks on the planet. I am humbled beyond word for all you folks. We love you all and are very grateful to have you in our lives...more to come

God Bless everyone of you :)

Brad and Lonna,

My heart sank when I read the subject line. I was very relieved to hear that things aren't worse than they are. As others have said, the bike can be replaced. I am thankful that you guys are still with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We are both so glad your not hurt any worse than you are. Lona we wish you fast healing and prayers.

Your tire blow out scares us so much. The last two rear tires that we've replaced had chunks missing from them even with decent thread left. I was lucky enough to see the missing chunks before the tires blew out. We parked the bike early this year due to a missing chunk of rear tire.

Again, we are both so glad your not hurt any worse than you are.

Lets face it, Brad just bounces better. He has more padding than Lona. :rasberry:

But even though he bounced he still hurts. I've been there for that pain.

Good news, mixed with bad. Glad you're here to tell us about it. You're gonna owe Lonna big time for Valentine's day, bro.

Take your time, healing. You'll find things sore that never hurt before; for a long time, too. Soft tissue injuries heal slower than broken bones; things like muscles, tendons, cartilage. Get Lonna's shoulder checked out by a good specialist; shoulders take an especially long time to heal, and sometimes surgery is the fastest way to healing.

Best pain reliever I found after my accident was Advil. Beat the prescription medz Doc handed me as I left the hospital. After the first night at home, sleepless, I took the over the counter recommended dose and slept like a baby.

Were glad y'all will be alright after your accident. The lose of your ride is nothing to the lose of y'all. Metal and plastic can be replaced but both of you can not!!!!! Please let us know if you need anything.
