oldschool Posted March 9, 2012 #1 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) Does anyone know of where you can get replacement studs for a pillow top seat (drivers) for a 2003 RSV? Or maybe have a homemade solution to fix them? I'm talking about the threaded mounting studs that bolt the seat on to the frame. Edited March 9, 2012 by oldschool

djh3 Posted March 9, 2012 #3 Posted March 9, 2012 I have to ask man. Which studs? The mounting studs or the decorative ones on the seat?
Rick Butler Posted March 9, 2012 #4 Posted March 9, 2012 I think he means the seat studs on a Midnight seat. The only ones that I could find are the ones sold by Mustang which have 2 barbes that get bent over after you punch them through the cover. I can't seem to find any like the oem Yamaha studs which are 2 piece which get set with a punch. I have to ask man. Which studs? The mounting studs or the decorative ones on the seat?
M61A1MECH Posted March 9, 2012 #5 Posted March 9, 2012 I thought he was talking about the threaded studs that are used to attach the seat to the bike, because the pillow top seats do not have decorative studs on them and I am pretty sure the Midnights that do have decorative studs never came with a pillow top seat.

RedRider Posted March 9, 2012 #7 Posted March 9, 2012 How about the stud that sits on top of the seat. I'm here in WI. RR
oldschool Posted March 9, 2012 Author #8 Posted March 9, 2012 I accidentally broke one of the mounting studs and need to replace it.
darthandy Posted March 9, 2012 #9 Posted March 9, 2012 I accidentally broke one of the mounting studs and need to replace it. Send a PM to Rick Butler. He just modified my seats and replaced the missing studs on my mine. He should be able to give you the info you need. Better yet, send him your seats for the Butler Butt Mod and he'll replace the studs for you. Andy
SilvrT Posted March 9, 2012 #11 Posted March 9, 2012 My wife saw this thread and hollered "Honey, come here, you need to check this thread out ... it is about you!" ....
Black Owl Posted March 9, 2012 #13 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) Dang. I thought this was going to be a thread about me. You could probably find repacement studs at you local Tandy Leather shop. Edited March 9, 2012 by Black Owl
djh3 Posted March 9, 2012 #14 Posted March 9, 2012 I remember reading on here somewhere about repairng/replacing the mount studs/nuts. I can see why, with the few times I have had mine apart them nuts are a PIA to get on.
