GolfVenture Posted February 27, 2012 #1 Posted February 27, 2012 I had a little squeak in my VRII Speedo Bearing. I had a friend with a machine shop and he made this out of aluminum. It works just great. So I thought I would present a group buy opportunity. Just response here and after a week or two I'll see what kind of quantity order we get and then see what kind of price I can get for that quantity. This would be a non committal response. Once I get the price then I will ask each if they are still interested in an order. I'm guessing that the coupling are the same for MKI and MKII. Could someone check please. Also if some could find out if the Speedometer coupling for a 1st Gen is the same as a 2nd Gen.
friesman Posted February 27, 2012 #2 Posted February 27, 2012 Definitely interested, but itdoes somewhat depend on pricing. I hate squeaks :-) Brian
GolfVenture Posted February 27, 2012 Author #3 Posted February 27, 2012 Ok, I've informed that MKI & MKII Speedo coupling are the same. The 2nd Gen has an electronic speedometer.
dingy Posted February 27, 2012 #6 Posted February 27, 2012 I love tools. Especially one like this, it will drive someone nuts at my estate sale trying to figure out what it was for. I will take one. Gary
KIC Posted February 28, 2012 #10 Posted February 28, 2012 I just completely disassembled my speedo and cleaned and greased the bearing, but if the price is right it might be cool to have one... so put me at a "maybe" depending on the $$$
Indiana Hayseed Posted February 28, 2012 #12 Posted February 28, 2012 ditto, "maybe" depending on the $$$
PBJ Posted February 28, 2012 #13 Posted February 28, 2012 I would be interested as well . Also depending on the price. My 85 squealed like a banshee when it was cold. it was unnerving and embarrassing. Not sure if my 86 will have a similar problem but better to have one just in case.
