wes0778 Posted February 27, 2012 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2012 What size is the Ducati? Cousin had a 450 single, years ago. It was a FUN bike to ride once you got the beast running. Yeah, shift on the right and brake on the left was a challenge..... Oh and if YOU didn't kick IT, just right, IT would KICK YOU!!!

darthandy Posted February 27, 2012 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2012 That looks a lot like the bike on which I learned to ride back in 1965. It was my sister's boyfriend's brand new (Then) 350 cc Ducati single. It was a royal pain in the (Insert body part here!) to start even from new. But...could that thing ever go once you got it started!!! I have a road test from, I believe, a Cycle magazine on the 450 cc that came out later. If memory serves, that little monster ran the quarter mile in 14.9 sec. at around 96 m.p.h. ... if you could get it started! (Anyone notice a recurring theme here?) The main problem was with the electrics. I remember the boyfriend spending several hours at our house once, getting the bike running then flew off down the street at dusk with a shower of sparks shooting off some part of the bike, but it was really hauling. Ah memories. Andy
Venturous Randy Posted February 27, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 27, 2012 Heck, I probably still have scars on the back of my ankle from my 125 Ducati kicking back on me and hitting the passenger foot peg. Thanks Mark for bringing back some very old memories. RandyA
warriorhoneybee Posted February 28, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted February 28, 2012 the shifter and brake being on opposite sides would mess me up.
