f4customs Posted October 7, 2013 #26 Posted October 7, 2013 The best thing to do is take a paper towel and rubbing alcohol and clean both sides. They either use our cleaner or Windex or any other non aresol glass cleaner. You will find that the rain shedding will be great. Call us if we can help. Don Frank 330-968-4644 I have the same 19" tall and wide windshield! I love this thing!!! But,,, I do not see the same water shedding!! My only complante is, In the rain, water will roll over the top of the wind shield and run down the back, and come off and hit me in the face!! I use "Plexus Plexiglass Cleaner", Could this be the issue?? What do you think F4??? Steve
f4customs Posted October 21, 2013 #27 Posted October 21, 2013 Tom, just wanted to let you know that we have tinted shields available for YRSV riders now! How's it going? We just finished another rally season and are checking in with old friends.....
f4customs Posted September 20, 2015 #28 Posted September 20, 2015 To have the F4 perform to its potential you must keep it clean and we suggest taking paper towels and Rubbing Alcohol to clean it once in a while. This removes all of the road grime and residue left behind from other cleaners. If you do this it will shed rain extremely well. F4 also has there own cleaner that you can call and order but good old Windex and paper towels are fine also. For those that like to run Rain X on your cars you can do this also with the F4 as it is chemically sealed. Here are a few other features: Optically perfect sheds rain wide and tall reduces head buffetting Made from Polycarbonate and then has the F4 coatings baked in so it will not break Made in the USA 4 Year limited warranty against cracking, crazing or delamination Call F4 Customs at 330-968-4644 if we can help in any way. Don Hi Don. I would like to add that when I purchased my F4 several weeks ago I had a small problem with the front chrome trim cover popping up whenever we got to or above 50 mph. The chrome trim piece would just not stay put. I ordered the standard 17" shield. I emailed you guys on a Saturday evening about the experience and I believe you either responded personally late that night or early Sunday morning about the problem and you were going to get to it immediately Monday. To me that was satisfaction enough that you have an outstanding company! I ended up tracing the problem to the mounting holes that Sunday. I had to drill them out just a little to create a more relaxed fit. Apparently the shield was in a slight bind, keeping the trim plate from seating firmly. That was all it took. We've put about 800 miles with that shield in place and haven't had any more incidents. I almost bought one of your competitors shields but now I'm convinced I made the right choice for me. I carry a small spray bottle with Windex in it and a few paper towels with us. I hate a dirty windshield and I like to clean it up occasionally on the road. I'm 6' 3" and me and especially the wife are pleased with the performance of your product, and especially the safety factor of the Lexan. Thanks again for going the extra mile! Chris
Beach Bum Posted September 20, 2015 #30 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm in the middle of shopping for a new shield now and it's serendipitous that this thread pooped up again. The one thing I'm not thrilled about with the F4, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that they still don't have the bottom of the shield blacked out to hide the gap between the fairing and the "dashboard". My current shield is scratched up along that line and it's gross. I also don't like seeing into the fairing. Might be a deal breaker F4.....

My bike's got a small dent in the tank and on the front fender and a few other character marks from the p.o.'s kids so at least for me, buying the F4 was more of the safety and ease of cleaning and durability issue, not to mention they've got a 4 year warranty.
videoarizona Posted September 21, 2015 #32 Posted September 21, 2015 RainX now has a plastic version of their famous product. I'm going to try some as soon as I can find it in the store.. Used the glass version on my Slipstreamer and no issues. Love the way the rain just beads up and moves off....
Wizard765 Posted September 21, 2015 #33 Posted September 21, 2015 Could you take the shield off and tape across where you want the black to start then spray it on the inside with black paint? I agree the bottom would be better blacked out.. Also hard to get between the vent and the dash to clean so once you get water spots in there it is difficult at best to get rid of them.. not in the way or anything just than you can see them..

Cougar Posted September 22, 2015 #35 Posted September 22, 2015 you get used to not having the black strip of paint, this shield is worth every penny.
f4customs Posted September 25, 2015 #36 Posted September 25, 2015 That would be a great post and I thank you for this
