Tomorrow is the wife's B-day. It made it up to the high 40's today so it was a good day to head north 100 miles into PA to buy her present. I rode it home. It sure is a lot more fun to ride than I thought it would be. Purely for research purposes, I took up to 100 on the highway just to make sure everything was ok. :) Never imagined scooters with that much get up and go, and it is a very comfortable ride.

Anyone else have experience with Honda Silver Wings? So far I'm very impressed.

Cheers,

Dan

What kinda gas mileage did ya get @ 100mph?

:rotf:

No idea, I was only at that speed for a minute. That was way outside my comfort zone. My guess is that it wouldn't be very good.

Cruised most of the way at about 70 (65 is the limit).

A friend of mine uses his SW as a daily rider. 45k miles and counting. I highly reccomend a Givi WindScreen and Top Case for the SW. Greg has those on his and we both had them on our old Aprilia Atlantics [that's how we met], 500cc maxi scooters. It makes riding so much easier as well as increases your storage on the bike.

I rode my Atlantic from where I live just outside Houston up to my mum's in Central Illinois and back with no problems. That trip was 2k+ miles and I had no trouble keeping up with the lunatics on the interstate. I actually miss it. If they were still available in country [Atlantics were pulled from the US market in '05], I would have replaced that one with another just like it. Maxi scooters are definitely a case of "Don't knock it until you've tried it!!"

Dan,

I know a guy down here in Texas that tours the country on one of them. They are a great machine and I was very surprised when I was on one of my RSV's with the cruise set at about 75mph and one of them passed me. Me thinks she's gonna love that scooter...you might too :whistling:

Congratulations Dan.

These things are so much fun to ride. Had the oppurtunity to ride one in Spain some years ago and this is no shy machine. Had a great ride and would really like to have one.

Ride safely,

Jonas

Those things are great. A Honda mechanic friend of mine bought one for his wife, it is a ton of fun and will keep up with the bikes no problem. I would love to have one to run errands on because of the storage. Ride safe Rod
