I have a crack in my #3 carb and need to get another one.The best price I've found is 396.00Does anyone have an idea where to find a used carb.Venture carbs will not fit(32mm).I've already sent e mails to all the salvage yards I could find but no luck.

Pin wall is about the best around, but all they have are 32mm Venture set ups, that being said the 32mm sets have been integrated to standard Royal Stars, but it is a bit of work. I will keep an eye open on Craigslist.

I'd hang in here a while. some people have converted to the larger carbs and are likely to have a set of the origonals looking for a new home.

I have been around Royals since 1997 and this is the first time I have heard of a cracked carb.

There are plenty of reports of the boots that connect the carbs to the cyclinders cracking, those are typically nothing to worry about, as the black plastic is covering a metal sleeve for a good portion of the length.

So tell us a bit more about the crack and maybe get a photo or two to share , maybe there is another fix besides a complete carb swap.

I am also making the assumption that this is for a bike other than what you are showing and listing in your profile, right? The bike in your profile picture looks like a Venture, they all have 32 mm carbs , 1999 to 2012 are the same.

It's a small hairline crack at the base of the carb where it connects to the intake. There may be a way to repair it but with a 6000 mile trip ahead of me,I would rather replace than repair.I just bought this one a month ago and hav'nt changed the profile info yet.One of those deals that was to good to pass up.LOL

Bill,

Contact Pegscraper here on the site, he also has the early Royal Star and has done some heavy modification of his bike including upgrading to the bigger Venture carbs. He might have the old set of carbs that were originally on his bike or know of some available....:2cents:
