1joeranger Posted February 19, 2012 #76 Posted February 19, 2012 Ha! That's funny. I've not heard Fort Riley called that before and I spent 30 months there; May73 through October75. I showed up in 76 and after 2 "Reforgers", left in 79! I consider that the enema pit of the world!! I did enjoy those European trips though!

stevej Posted February 20, 2012 #79 Posted February 20, 2012 Before I was legal, Artic Cat mini bike and a Gemini 80. Legally, a new 1976 Yamaha RD200, put about 12000 on it; sold it and bought a 78 Yamaha 650 twin, put about 18000 on it; sold it to the future brother-in-law who still has it, stored away, hasn't moved in at least 15 years now. In 1984, bought a new carry over 82 Yamaha 650 Maxim that I still have. Between 84 and 88, put about 16000 on it, work and Kids came along and the bike got parked for a few years, have about 25000 on it now. Got my 92 venture couple of years ago, it was a basket case with just over 42000. With a lot of help from this group, got it on the road last fall for a few miles, hope to put a lot more on it this coming summer.
hunter 1500 Posted February 20, 2012 #80 Posted February 20, 2012 First bike I rode was a Honda CB50 but just on back roads at 13 yo. First bike I rode on the streets was a Honda CB350 in 1976 at 23 yo.
