sounds like "snake oil" to me. Things like this have been around for years for cars. I'm surprised they haven't been outlawed along with the magic medical cures.

Hmm I dunno. Looks suspeciously like those "turbo boost or turbo flow" things they were selling a few years back that you put in your air hose for your cage. Dont know as they did anything. However I do recal seeing something in the last few months that actually goes like right at the intake port and epoxy's in to redirect air and break it ou or something. I think the idea here is to swirl the air to speed it up and mix better.

I haven't tried them, but I remember that a car magazine tried the cage version some years back. The only performance advantage came from the fact that the loss of money from the buyer's wallet made him lighter!

:rotf::sign yeah that: I sort of think that with the way the EPA and all has got involved in milage on everything, if it helped MPG the factory would be installing some sort of gizmo to boost milage. since they dont, not likley it helps. Just my thoughts.

you just may be right,i've just had real good luck in the past with barron products.i know some here said dont waste the money on the carbs/big air kit and they maybe right but on my ole 06 vulcan (900) fuel injected it made it come to life. peace out.

Looks like you have to pull the carbs to install those. They go in the intake manifold. Thats at least somewhat more credible than the airbox, since the two right turns after the airbox would have eliminated any swirling effect. But if it was worth swirling the air, the Manufacturer would be doing it.

If your willing to pull your carbs, I suggest pulling them and checking the float height per Gooses tech article and putting them back on. You'll probably find that will make a bigger difference. Same work (almost) less money.

I also had a Barrons on my 900 Kawi. I had just put in a K&N OEM replacement filter. I left on a trip up to my buddy's house in Chralotte. I got off the expressway @ his off ramp and when I was trying to accelerate from the light the bike seemed to really labor and didnt have much power and made alot of noise from the air filter area. I looked down when I had a chance and the silly chrome OEM cover was gone. Guess the vibration of the 600 miles took it toll. Well went back and looked for it but no good, never found it. I called some local Kawai delaers and none in stock. One had a used bike in the showroom and I offered to buy it off that bike and they could order one to replace it. "Oh no cant do that someone might buy that bike tomorrow". Yea right. Well luckly another friend in Charlotte just traded his 900 off for a Stratoliner and had taken his Barron BAK off and tried to sell it to me like 2 weeks before so I rang him up and bought it. It ran OK, maybe better power sure didnt notice any difference in MPG but it got me going.

I am not decided if I want to change out the air filters on the RSV to K&N's or not. Sure aint a cheap investment. Something like over $100. Not looking to gain HP or anything, just like the idea of cleanable. Shoot I think the OEM filters for this rig are near $60 or better.

djh3 this is what i did to my 06 900 vulcan and it out run and pulled most of the 1500 kia. barron big air kit which removes the factory air box, cobra short dragsters and the cobra fuel processor i think it was the 3200 or something like that. set it to the cobra specs and than ran it for a while and made one ajustment on it and it was perfect. so after the big air kit i ran it and noticed a pretty good differance but after all the other it was a totally different bike. when i traded it in like a dumb A@* they couldn't believe how good it ran.

The 9 was a good bike for me to get back into the sport on. After about 4yr of "touring" on it I had enough.

Back on the air intake swirler thingy's. I think the ones I'm thinking of they called "turtles" or something like that. Shoot they look what we use to have on airplane wings called a vortex generator. Actually probably one of the best air "mods" I've seen is the guy took the big black plastic things off and got some K&N chrome clamp on filters and put them on. It elminated the restrictive part and added some bling. but yet was subdued somewhat.

I am on the dodge forum also, their has been extensive study on this and the end result was it has no measurable effect on mileage or hp on a dyno. I bought a spacer for my throttle body and I was keeping track before and after and nothin, same mileage. Keep your cash in your wallet or buy a trailer raffle ticket. . .

I did see a throttle body spacer I think for the 4.7 dodge a fellow made that he said helped him out. True or BS I dont know. His spacer was like the ones you buy, but he cut swirls in it so it sort of acted like the miller vortex bottles I guess. I can see the theroy but does it work for real? Beats me. Sounds good though dont it. Heres another idea, clamp a magnet that has a cut out in it to both sides of your fuel line. It will magneticly realign the properties and the fuel will mix better. :stirthepot:

Not sure what manifold sits under the 4.7, but I can tell you that Dodge basically feeds the throddle body into a chamber followed by rectangular tubes and whatever vortex action you can create in a 1/2 or 3/4 inch is gone faster than your cash at a casino. I do know they dyno tested the truck before and after ib a controlled environment and nothin.

Tried those back in 1981. Did nothing except milage went down. After several thousand miles I took them off and sent them back and got a refund.
