Special editions

I was looking at some other bikes (HD) awile back and of course they had special editions and something like 105yr aniversary edition etc. Why you would signafy 105yr not 100 I dont know. Anyways Since the G2 started in 99 was there any designation or "special" model in 2009? Like 10 aniv edition. I had a FOX body mustang GT that was like 25th aniv I think.

Harley has a special edition every 5 years including 100th.

 

The only special edition 2nd gen that I recall is the 2000 year model, "Millennium", cream and tan colors with individually numbered ID plates.

Look for the 30th Anniversary Edition in 2013. I can see it now The Yamaha Venture- 30 years of V4's, Carburetors, and Cassette Decks ( of course there was a short Hiatus) .........

Harley has several special editions,95th anniversary.100th andniversary,105th anniversary,30th anniversary of the electraglide,10th anniversary of the Vrod,etc,etc,etc.

They also do limited edition paint runs or equiptment runs.Anything to generate interest and sales and they are very good at it.

Yes we all know the 2nd gens are all a little special, that is why the 1st gens always stop at the next ice cream stand to wait for them.....
