Guest Rev'n Ahead Posted February 16, 2012 #1 Posted February 16, 2012 I have my 84 Venture stripped down as I was doing a bunch of work on it getting ready for my first season - coming up soon! YEAH! Anyways, has anyone taken one of these bikes and stripped it down and ridden the bike without all the extra plastic? Does is look ok? Any opinions out there???? Thanks
tufftom4 Posted February 16, 2012 #2 Posted February 16, 2012 I've ridden stripped down and it was a little chilly........
Prairiehammer Posted February 16, 2012 #3 Posted February 16, 2012 Are these stripped enough for you? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
GaryZ Posted February 16, 2012 #4 Posted February 16, 2012 I added a pair of temporary front turn signals and rode my '85 for almost 2 months without plastic. I wanted to give it a good 'shake down' before re-assembly. We got a lot of looks and the bike seemed more agile. The dash panel provided as much wind protection as the windshield on my sport bike!
cabreco Posted February 16, 2012 #5 Posted February 16, 2012 Yep I drove here around while I was plastic welding the fairing & side covers. She was ugly & windy & cold. I realized fairly quickly I had NO mirrors!

I think I like the green "rat_trap9" one... extra fuel tank (might not be hooked up?) Interesting comments from the other guys about being windy and cold... i guess that depends on what time of year you ride. Thanks for the pics... I won't go for the totally flat black look as part of my trick in getting the wife on the bike is if it looks good... thanks
