silvercrew Posted January 1, 2008 #1 Posted January 1, 2008 Has anyone ordered anything right from j&m off there web site or by phone? I am looking at ordering from them but I don't know anything about them. I do live in Canada and I don't know if that makes a diffeance or not so anyone can help U.S. or Canada would be great. Thanks.
muffinman Posted January 1, 2008 #2 Posted January 1, 2008 I have ordered from J&M directly and it took longer for the headset to get delivered than it did for the ones we ordered from wingstuff.com check to see if they have what you want at. http://www.wingstuff.com they have better prices than J&M and if they dont ship north have it shipped to us and we will send it to you. Jeff
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 1, 2008 #3 Posted January 1, 2008 For what its worth....the one time I tried to ask a few simple questions of a rep at the J&M booth at Sturgis, the guy was just rude...and since J&M is over priced, and apparently poor quality, I'd only order from them if NOBODY else had what I wanted.
nelsonrl Posted January 1, 2008 #4 Posted January 1, 2008 Just the opposite experiences with J&M. I had a minor issue with a headset that was taken care of quickly and with no hassles. You might try http://www.sierra-mc.com/ They carry J&M and are prompt in delivery.
91nwl Posted January 1, 2008 #5 Posted January 1, 2008 I've had good luck with J&M. I have two of their top-of-the-line headsets that are 10 years old and work well. I have ordered a few replacement parts from them on the phone and got what I needed.
sarges46 Posted January 1, 2008 #6 Posted January 1, 2008 Canadians do not order from Wingstuff and have it sent to Canada!! Do not do it....it gets very expensive after the brokerage fee is added...I learned the hard way. If you have someone to ship to in the states, do that...but dont order shipping to Canada.

midnightventure Posted January 1, 2008 #8 Posted January 1, 2008 http://www.chromeworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=2826&categoryID=224 They advertise $60 dollar J&M headsets.

You Northerers just need to go for a ride down south and pick it up. Better yet see if one of us Southerners will be nice and pick it up for you, meet you some where and hand it over. Of course the cost of lunch might offset the savings.
bongobobny Posted January 1, 2008 #10 Posted January 1, 2008 I've been very happy with my J&M's. Bought the headgear from Wingstuff and the cables from Sierra. Both are excellent to deal with but as was mentioned, shipping to Canada seems to be a different story...
bmxndad Posted January 1, 2008 #11 Posted January 1, 2008 While we are on the subject of headsets... Does anyone know of a headset with thinner speakers? I have the Econo J & M and I am happy with the sound, however after a couple of hours our ears start to hurt. Thanks, Ross

I had a friend tell me one time, that he shipped electronics to Canada with the words 'Medical Supplies' stamped on the carton and on the invoice, and that way there were no import duties assessed...anyone know if this is correct?
DragonRider Posted January 1, 2008 #13 Posted January 1, 2008 I ordered a CB radio from them and the shipping was quick. Good company to do business with, but if you want headsets, like mini said, go to wingstuff.com they have a set for $60.00.............and they are J&M. Has anyone ordered anything right from j&m off there web site or by phone? I am looking at ordering from them but I don't know anything about them. DragonRider Posted January 1, 2008 #14 Posted January 1, 2008 Well, you cant do that now since you just let the cat out of the bag...........:rotf::rotf: I had a friend tell me one time, that he shipped electronics to Canada with the words 'Medical Supplies' stamped on the carton and on the invoice, and that way there were no import duties assessed...anyone know if this is correct?
PrairieStar Posted January 1, 2008 #15 Posted January 1, 2008 I agree that Sierra Electronics is a good place for Canadians to order J&M equipment from. I ordered 2 headsets and had them sent to me in Brandon, Manitoba via USPS and they were very reasonable and fast. Any US company that won't ship to me in this way is off my list of comanies to order from. You'd think I would have learned the first time. Rod.
