Cougar Posted February 15, 2012 #1 Posted February 15, 2012 Hey gang, so those of you that have the Argus Battery Bug, where have you mounted it? Pictures please, I already have a Kuryakyn LED mounted and it works great, 4 years running and no problems, but going one step father, been hearing pretty good reviews about them. Also, how have you been liking yours? Thanks, Jeff
Snaggletooth Posted February 15, 2012 #2 Posted February 15, 2012 I don't have the Bug but I like the unit. I went simple on mine but it is a problem to mount on the 2nd gens. http://www.bikemeters.com/cgi-bin/webshop.cgi?config=ent-datel But if I had my druthers, and more expendable cash I'd like to have this unit. Nice feature with the amp info. https://kisantech.com/index.php?cat_id=5&catname=chargeGuard Just throwing stuff out there. Mike
twigg Posted February 15, 2012 #3 Posted February 15, 2012 Jeez! Kisan are pretty proud of that! Radio Shack has a unit that displays digital clock, in and out temps and voltmeter for about $12
gunboat Posted February 15, 2012 #4 Posted February 15, 2012 i just got one of the bug last month. i installed it on the cassett door after removing the star logo. i was waiting on ponch to finish my new gage set. but bless his heart he had that dang accident, so i went with the bug for now. reguards don c.
Chinto Posted February 15, 2012 #5 Posted February 15, 2012 I mounted mine on the brake reservoir using velcro so when I want to check the brake fluid level I simply put the bug off to check then stick it back on. I ran the wire down the handlebar with the other wires back to the battery and have had no problems with it. I definitely would give the Battery Bug a
KeithR Posted February 15, 2012 #6 Posted February 15, 2012 I mounted mine to the rear fender in by the right grab handle. Easy to see when I want to check before going for a ride. Keith
Cougar Posted February 22, 2012 Author #8 Posted February 22, 2012 Well I think I found my SweetSpot Not sure to leave it black or paint in in MM Color Black looks OK tho. Used a Little aluminum flat stock , one screw, and a little bit of Goop. Run wires into fairing back out under tank to Battery. Tapped into the rubber on the bars. so now there is a small back plate. Now there is 3 types of units to show how the batter is doing LOL
Snaggletooth Posted February 22, 2012 #9 Posted February 22, 2012 Looks like ya got it licked Jeff. Right next to the voltmeter! Just razzinn' ya. Nuttin' like an early warning system. Mike
dingy Posted February 22, 2012 #10 Posted February 22, 2012 Ok, my wheels are turning on something I saw in Kisan sight. There was a link to installing meter in side mirror. I don't want a meter there though. Anybody got an idea how to get a mirror glass out of a 1st gen (intact) and be able to put it back in. Gary

I am thinking LED's mounted to form a turn signal arrow. I could also disable them at night if they were to bright, with a low cost photovoltaic unit. Something like what is in my head light modulator. Gary
Cougar Posted February 22, 2012 Author #13 Posted February 22, 2012 Yep, Mike. Now I can see or tell if it has been working right all this time. Mike your letting me down. you didnt find the third meter in the photo. Sheesh.
