1rooster Posted December 31, 2007 #1 Posted December 31, 2007 Interesting article http://www.pashnit.com/venture-wht.htm
Venturous Randy Posted December 31, 2007 #2 Posted December 31, 2007 Thanks for posting this article. I was evidently posting one at the same time, but a little different. I also joined their site and posted a note and a picture of my 83. We also need to have a link to our web site noted on theirs. RandyA
Condor Posted December 31, 2007 #3 Posted December 31, 2007 Ran into that article several years ago and it was one of the main reasons I ended up owning a Venture. Great bunch of folks, but mostly a younger crowd with sport bikes. The head honcho Tim now rides a Busa and that's one of the main reasons there are so many sport touring members. There are some great articles and pictures posted by the group and it's well worth the read.
Lone Eagle Posted December 31, 2007 #4 Posted December 31, 2007 If you're into photography, many on Pashnit have some incredible photos. They always have some good routes/rides. I would love to "explore" with some of those guys, but like Jack said, though Tim has always said his group is open to all bikes, most are accomplished sport bike type riders and many live for the goaty trails. Great source for ride ideas, however. I have kept a "membership" with them, just to look for diffrerent ride ideas, and enjoy the photographs.

loehring Posted December 31, 2007 #7 Posted December 31, 2007 I have to admit I haven't made it to Alaska yet. That's a goal. I a planning a trip to MN to visit relatives this summer. If I route it right I can hit qualifiers for both the Saddle Sore 1000 and Butt Burner 1500 with IBA. Anyone ever made those? What was it like??

Tom (dknight) and Steve (hdhtr) did an IB 1000 a couple of years ago. Sacramento, CA./Carson City,NV to El Paso. I think you have to do a 1000 first before you can qualify do one of the longer rides. I think??? In other words you do one and then you have to go back and start over for a longer ride. I did about 3 600's in a week. Whipped my butt.....:buttkick:I'm a whoos!!
