Freebird Posted January 26, 2012 #26 Posted January 26, 2012 I KNOW you will love the Harley but I still drool over your RSV.
Eddie Posted January 26, 2012 Author #27 Posted January 26, 2012 Hey Don maybe we can put in a glass case and put out in front of your house for a land mark.
Venturous Randy Posted January 26, 2012 #28 Posted January 26, 2012 Here's a couple of pic's I found, cover your eye's and open them slowly after the pic comes up. Your bike looks a lot like elmiko's RandyA
99silver Posted January 27, 2012 #29 Posted January 27, 2012 Yep that was that day when we met for breakfast a my battery went dead.
Freebird Posted January 27, 2012 #30 Posted January 27, 2012 Hey Don maybe we can put in a glass case and put out in front of your house for a land mark. Heck no...I want to RIDE it.
BradT Posted January 27, 2012 #31 Posted January 27, 2012 Heck no...I want to RIDE it. You already own one that you want to ride ..... Congrats to you Eddie, so are you going to set up that meet and eat at that Race track you talked about ? Brad
Godlover Posted January 27, 2012 #32 Posted January 27, 2012 I just put my Road Glide on Craigslist with the thought that if it sells I'll get back into a RSV or TD. Mine is an 03 and ride great. I just don't like all the heat from the pipes. If it doesn't sell I'll be riding a Harley next summer - If it does - I think I see what the local dealer will do on one of the two 09 Tour Deluxe's he has left over. I took the Road Glide on trade for my old Mercury. One of my main reasons for getting back into the Royal Star is how much I enjoy this forum! I will see what happens!
Eck Posted January 27, 2012 #33 Posted January 27, 2012 One thing for sure that leaves no doubt..... you really like BLUE......... I must say you did an outstanding job taking care of and customizing your RSV over the years Ed, and I am just happy that I was even able to park my 05 liquid Silver RSV in the same parking lot, let alone be able to ride in some of the same rides with you at Vogel. I would really like to see Cecdoo carry out his end of the deal on his wish for the chrome rims though.. His wife may not agree, but hey...it is what it is...

One of the things I got to say about HD is they must listen to there customers. Some of the issues are addressed that poeple have . Your heat problem was fixed with a whole new exhaust system. The pipe on the left side isnt there anymore. It comes from under the bike. I forget what its called but if you get stuck in traffic you can turn the throttle backwards for 4 seconds and it shuts down the rear jug. You can use this up to 30 mph. ABS brakes. The list goes on. I dont want to bash the RSV that I love, but Ive wanted a new bike for a couple of years and was hoping that Yamaha would catch up and they have failed. Its to bad that they dont care about losing customers.

Hey Eck I would take him up on it if I was needing an extra one but Im good there. Like you Im going to be adding some contast to the group. The best thing about this group is that it started with all Yamaha's and who knows how or with what it will end. Wait till you see this blue and chrome thing in the sunlight
Eddie Posted January 27, 2012 Author #36 Posted January 27, 2012 You already own one that you want to ride ..... Congrats to you Eddie, so are you going to set up that meet and eat at that Race track you talked about ? Brad Sure.....now you want to race . Can I use my car?

IF Yamaha ever Updates I will probably add one to the stall. But I will keep the Wing also. Nice bike you have bought!
Eddie Posted January 27, 2012 Author #38 Posted January 27, 2012 Me too Tom , if they ever do its probably going to have 125 hp or better and be the fastest touring bike out there.

Not 2nd Gen bashing with this one but I think most will agree the 2nd Gen was a step backwards in a lot of ways and few forward. The 83-85 1st Gens were the cream of the crop if the would have just grown with the times???
deepforkriver Posted January 27, 2012 #40 Posted January 27, 2012 The water "cool headed" Hardley from patent office docs. hmmmm Thought it would be released on 2012 models, didnt make it.
DANGEROUSDANA Posted January 27, 2012 #41 Posted January 27, 2012 I haven't paid too much attention to Harleys for quite a few years, but ain't them thangs still just two cylinders?
Eddie Posted January 27, 2012 Author #42 Posted January 27, 2012 I haven't paid too much attention to Harleys for quite a few years, but ain't them thangs still just two cylinders? Yes but its 1690 cc s
Redneck Posted January 28, 2012 #43 Posted January 28, 2012 Yes but its 1690 cc sMine is 1856cc and it will smoke my venture bad.

BradT Posted January 28, 2012 #45 Posted January 28, 2012 Mine is 1856cc and it will smoke my venture bad. Sure give him ideas Which to choose, chrome or performance, maybe both. Brad
Redneck Posted January 28, 2012 #46 Posted January 28, 2012 Sure give him ideas Which to choose, chrome or performance, maybe both. BradOne of the great things about a harley is all the options that are available. For a nominal fee you can ride a new harley away from the dealer with 125hp and 125 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheel with a warranty. My venture is still the king of comfort but I really like my soft tail.
Eddie Posted January 28, 2012 Author #47 Posted January 28, 2012 Thats funny because at a Harley dealer they will take you to all departments and you meet everybody in the place. I talked to the service manager a while and will have my bike in for dyno work pretty quick.
Yammer Dan Posted January 28, 2012 #48 Posted January 28, 2012 Mine is 1856cc and it will smoke my venture bad. Kind of like the 1st Gens do??
Redneck Posted January 28, 2012 #49 Posted January 28, 2012 Kind of like the 1st Gens do??No not like the first gens do the Harley is actually a lot faster its not one of those fantasy deals like you antique herders have.
