I got a Microsoft Zune for Christmas but I'm going to have to send it back because it can't handle the vibration. I looking for suggestions on a new one. I would like at least 8GB, an FM tuner (an Ipod's out) and it needs to be big enough to mount on the bars in my ram mount. What's everyone using now? Anyone have one of the Sansa views?

I bought this Sony MP3 Player a while a go , and I use it almost every day on my bike without any problems.

it has: Intelligent Shuffle, FM Radio, Initial Search, Photo Library, Music Library, Video Library, Settings, Playlists, Now Playing.

When an icon is selected using the 5-way control, a line of text describing its function appears near the bottom of the screen and the graphic enlarges and glows orange.

There is absolutely no lag time between pressing a button and reaching the desired area of the system, so navigation is very fast.

and it is very user friendly to upload your files.

I have a Sansa C250 It has 2 Gig on-board and it will accept a MicroSDHC memory card. There are 6 gig cards on the market so you could have 8 gigs for not a lot of $, if you shop carefully.

I put a 1 gig MicroSD card in for a total of 3 gig and that is enough memory for me... I normaly listen to the radio but go to the MP3 when the reception gets flaky or I want to listen to a certain album when riding down a stretch of road.

Just whatever you buy make sure it is all solid state...

Yeah...those old tube-type radios take too long to warm up!! Besides, its hard to find a place to mount one...

By all solid state, I mean witout a mechanical hard drive in it, like the big Ipods have....:whistling:

I use a tiny RCA player. It has a strap for my upper arm. I hook that around the right side mirror and brake master cylinder. It takes a SD card and with a 1GB card it holds over 100 songs. That was a big card when I got it a few years ago.

Just use the Zune.. it will work.. If after a while ya lose

to music Files from a bad bump or something Just reload them.

Folks here still use the Ipod with hard drive and hardly have

any problems with them.

But It is WAY better to use a NONE HARD DRIVE type MP3 Player!

Heck I started out with my 512 nano and it ran perfect for a long time!

Until I just switch over the the Zumo GPS this year.

$39.95 will get you what your looking for though.. :)

CUZ the NANO is a Solid State Chip that Stores Music

The Larger IPODS have a working hard drives in them.

Bumps and Vibrations will eventually disrupt the drive.

Well I bought a 16GB Sansa View. I'm lazy and only want to load the songs once so anything smaller just won't enough. Heck 16GB is nowhere near enough but it was the biggest I could find without a hard drive. I used the Zune for 2 days and it constantly froze up on me from the vibration. Its OK though. I only paid 90 for it and should be able to sell it on ebay for 140. Thanks for the replies.

I used Creative Zen Jukbox before going to Sat Radio...used the 30 GB for 2 years on my 650 and for a couple of months on the Venture...had also upgraded to a 120GB Hard Drive in it...every now and then it would reboot due to vibration or bumps but not that often...there are new models out through Creative that are digital and do not use the mechanical Laptop HardDrive also...plus they are much cheaper on average than Ipod.
