sarges46 Posted December 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2007 Got the trip booked for Vegas in Feb. We are only there for a few days. We land on the evening of the 12th Feb. and leave on the 15th I believe. Our "free" day is most likely the 14th and we hope to maybe rent a bike and drive out to the Grand Canyon. Is that plausable? Then maybe meet up with Ron and Linda and whomever else is interested for something to eat. We are staying at New York New York. Feedback and hints are appreciated! We are sort of prepared for the bike cost. Cool in February around here means 25-30's at night, mid30's to high 40's during the day, cool for us, probably warm for you... Bike rentals here in town are mostly run-down Harley's, one place rents a couple of Goldwings, that's about it. Looking forward to seeing you in February, Klaus
sarges46 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted December 31, 2007 Thanks Klaus! We may have to reconsider the bike thing! That is a little cooler than I want to be for the day. Perhaps save the cash and just cage it to the canyon. Good tip. Be nice to meet you as well.
BradT Posted December 31, 2007 Share #7 Posted December 31, 2007 Feedback and hints are appreciated! Enjoy the trip and do not spend too much. In March is the big "ConExpo" construction show so you are going at a good time. (Too many people at that show). BRad
sarges46 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted December 31, 2007 Good news there Brad....we do not gamble. I will sometimes throw a loony into a machine and the head on out once it eats it. We are going just because.....I wanna see the pretty lights and maybe catch a show or two. Gambling does nothing for me....I can do that here if I wanted to. But, thanks for the warning. sarges46 Posted January 24, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted January 24, 2008 Hi We are finalizing things to do in the short time we are there. Marilyn heard about a place (mall?) that sells discount brand name things. Does anyone know which I'm talking about? If so, could let us know the name of the place and possibly the location. We are going to the Canyon on the 14th....still trying to decide whether to rent a car or take one of the tours listed. See ya later hopefully! The last time my wife and I were there we went to a mall out on the end of the strip to kill a little time. I wonder if this is the one you heard about???? Guest BluesLover Posted January 24, 2008 Share #12 Posted January 24, 2008 Rick - the wife and I are heading there at the end of March for her "half-century" celebration. I checked out the Grand Canyon website and when it stated that average daytime highs at the South Rim in March was only around 50 degrees (40 at the North Rim), we passed on the bike rental idea. Cheers,

Sailor Posted January 25, 2008 Share #14 Posted January 25, 2008 Probably the Premium Outlet on Charleston. We were there last sept. Realy enjoyed renting a car and going on a circle route which took us to the Lost Village and then on to The Valley of Fire. Spectacular. Great for a one day trip. We also did the Grand Canyon and Brice Canyon and Monument Valley. Worth going back to.
kantornado Posted January 25, 2008 Share #15 Posted January 25, 2008 Rick that TOOLDOOD is sure a COOLDOOD he found you some shopping places. The one I think your talking about is the outlet mall on south Las Vegas Blvd. That is where I want to put a Meet & Greet together. Quite a few places to eat and drink there and it will be fairly close to where your staying. I am going down there tomorrow and scout it out and will post a time and place to Meet & Greet Rick & Marilyn and there will be plenty of time for people to make arrangements............................Ron
StuD Posted January 25, 2008 Share #16 Posted January 25, 2008 The 2 discount ticket places I know of is at the Mall which will be across the street froim the new Wynn Casino, mid Strip. The other one is by the Harley Davidson Cafe next to the Coke bottle If memory serves across & up from NY NY.If you get show tickets Keep the stubs from the show then you can return as a VIP &no need to stand in line as long. South end of the strip past the runway kitty corner from the Out Let Mall there is a Westeran Boot place that is worth checking out for MC boots & belts. In the Riviara, Katies had a 16oz Tbone for $9.99 & had 2/1 coupons you could print off there website, or Vegus Coupons site. :canada: Have F U N
