Aussie Annie Posted January 20, 2012 #1 Posted January 20, 2012 Thunder storm started about 2am this morning and went on for 3 hours. Never heard anything like it!! Sure broke the heat but geez, what a racket and it's after 9am now, and I can still here the rumble off in the distance. Reminds me of the Storms in Alabama
Yammer Dan Posted January 20, 2012 #2 Posted January 20, 2012 Love to sit thru a good thunder boomer if it doesn't do any damage.
leo3wheel Posted January 20, 2012 #3 Posted January 20, 2012 Thunder storm started about 2am this morning and went on for 3 hours. Never heard anything like it!! Sure broke the heat but geez, what a racket and it's after 9am now, and I can still here the rumble off in the distance. Reminds me of the Storms in Alabama Know exactly what you mean about the storms in Alabama. While in Mississippi, those storms would roll in and nearly shake the houses off their foundations.
Condor Posted January 20, 2012 #4 Posted January 20, 2012 No lightening here, but we finally got rain!!! It's been almost 2 and a half months of nothing, and that's during the rainy season...... With Japan sitting 13 feet closer to California after their big shake, plus all the rest of the major quakes and eruptions we've had world wide in the last two years, it makes one wonder if the whole weather scheme of things hasn't been altered....
Rick Haywood Posted January 20, 2012 #5 Posted January 20, 2012 Thunder storm started about 2am this morning and went on for 3 hours. Never heard anything like it!! Reminds me of the Storms in Alabama Wish we needed a thunderstorm to break the "heat" here. 12 degrees F this morning:bawling:
GAWildKat Posted January 20, 2012 #6 Posted January 20, 2012 It's supposed to rain here this afternoon. Mike isn't happy about it. He's going to get rained on as he's getting off work.
Galapagos Posted January 20, 2012 #7 Posted January 20, 2012 At least you dont have to shovel rain like you do snow Annie. Last Saturday we had over 2 feet in 4 hours or so.
Yammer Dan Posted January 20, 2012 #8 Posted January 20, 2012 If this keeps up I'm going to put my shovel on E-Bay!!!!:clap2:
wrenchrob Posted January 20, 2012 #9 Posted January 20, 2012 At least you dont have to shovel rain like you do snow Annie. Last Saturday we had over 2 feet in 4 hours or so. That is a crazy amount of snow in a short period of time. Did you get stranded any where?

Condor Posted January 21, 2012 #12 Posted January 21, 2012 Taken just down the road at the beach WOW!! Afterwards is there any glass at the strike sight?? Might be some crazy results....
Yama Mama Posted January 21, 2012 #13 Posted January 21, 2012 That is a really cool photo Annie. Glad you made it through the thunderstorm. We might have an ice storm tonight. Hate the ice stuff. Yama Mama:smile5:
BuddyRich Posted January 21, 2012 #14 Posted January 21, 2012 Good Thunderstorms put me to sleep for some reason.
Galapagos Posted January 21, 2012 #15 Posted January 21, 2012 That is a crazy amount of snow in a short period of time. Did you get stranded any where? I live about 5 miles from the huge storm and we got about 8 inches. I did go pickup my bow at a sporting goods store that day in the two foot area. Cars were stuck everywhere. 4WD is so nice.
b2dad Posted January 21, 2012 #16 Posted January 21, 2012 Lots and Lots of rain...very thankful it was not snow or ice. We didn't have lightning either. That is an awesome picture Annie.
