Freebird Posted January 18, 2012 #1 Posted January 18, 2012 For those of you who were looking for a solution to use the VRChat Room from your Iphones, Ipads, Androids, you can now do so at this link. The Iphone does not use flash so this is a html version of the room that then communicates with the Flash based chat room. I briefly tried it from my Iphone and it seems to work just fine. It is a streamlined version that does not have all the features available but does allow you to chat. Please give it a try. If it works OK, I will add a link to it in the menu bar. http://host718.123flashchat.com/venturerider/html-chat-login.html
GAWildKat Posted January 18, 2012 #2 Posted January 18, 2012 Freebird, my phone gets stuck at the login screen and won't give me the options of what room I want.
Freebird Posted January 18, 2012 Author #3 Posted January 18, 2012 I think you said before that you are using an Android? I have no way of testing it because I don't have one. When I go to that link with my Iphone, I get the login screen. After I login, I get a drop down menu of the three rooms available.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 18, 2012 #4 Posted January 18, 2012 Yeah it seems to work on the ipad....cool new feature! It gives you an ascii menu system to navigate within the chat. It great having a boss thats Apple-aware. Life is good.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 18, 2012 #5 Posted January 18, 2012 I can also try on my android nook. Give me a couple minutes.
Freebird Posted January 18, 2012 Author #6 Posted January 18, 2012 Yeah it seems to work on the ipad....cool new feature! It gives you an ascii menu system to navigate within the chat. It great having a boss thats Apple-aware. Life is good. You just HAVE to don't you.
GAWildKat Posted January 18, 2012 #7 Posted January 18, 2012 Yeah, I'm using an optimus V android 2.1 I'll ask Mike if his phone works with the link a bit later.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 18, 2012 #8 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) Ok it worked pretty well using my Android-Nook Color. The built in browser was having trouble but the Android Market browser called 'Dolphin' worked. Its a Nook Color with an N2A card installed, which boots up the Nook Color into full blown Android. Its a bit laggy (the Nook) and im not crazy about it but it does work, kinda. So we know it works with iOS and Android. Cool. I never thought I'd see the day when this oldschool website is tablet and iOS aware. Assimilation is harmless...and actually kinda fun! Edited January 18, 2012 by tx2sturgis
BradT Posted January 19, 2012 #9 Posted January 19, 2012 You just HAVE to don't you. Noticed it as well and thought it was funny. Brad
FreezyRider Posted January 19, 2012 #10 Posted January 19, 2012 Hey Don, I know you didn't ask, but in case you are curious.....this also works really well with HP's TouchPad running webOS! Good Job! Joe
Freebird Posted January 19, 2012 Author #11 Posted January 19, 2012 Thanks, that is good to know. It should actually work with any device that can access standard .html pages. It's a good alternative to any device without flash or with a smaller screen.
FreezyRider Posted January 19, 2012 #12 Posted January 19, 2012 Oh, works equally well with Android Gingerbread on the Droid Bionic.
Freebird Posted March 26, 2013 Author #14 Posted March 26, 2013 I have no idea. I would think that it should though.
Skid Posted March 26, 2013 #15 Posted March 26, 2013 No, I just get an error message that page not found on server..
Freebird Posted March 26, 2013 Author #16 Posted March 26, 2013 Yea, I just tried it and it didn't work for me either. I'll look at it tonight. To be honest, I had forgotten all about it and don't know if anybody ever used it or not.
Skid Posted March 26, 2013 #17 Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks Don, I used it back a year ago and it worked good.
Skid Posted March 26, 2013 #18 Posted March 26, 2013 Correction, I just logged on and appeared to work although no one on there. I'll try again tonight maybe I'll find someone. I had a bookmark in my iphone that worked.
Skid Posted March 27, 2013 #19 Posted March 27, 2013 Don I guess it doesn't work. Apparently everyone can see me in the room, but I can't see them. I can tell they are logged in but I cannot see any posts by them. I found the link saved in my iphone from the last time you posted it on here. Appeared normal to let me log in, but that was it.
Skid Posted March 28, 2013 #20 Posted March 28, 2013 Hey Don, Have you had a chance to check out the link for iphone chat yet?
Freebird Posted March 29, 2013 Author #21 Posted March 29, 2013 No, sorry. I'll try to do that later this evening though.
Freebird Posted March 29, 2013 Author #22 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) Please try this link. http://host718.123flashchat.com/venturerider/htmlchat/123flashchat.html?init_host=host718.123flashchat.com&init_port=21127&init_host_s=host728.123flashchat.com&init_port_s=443&init_host_h=host738.123flashchat.com&init_port_h=443&init_group=venturerider&init_root=http://host718.123flashchat.com/venturerider/ Actually I just checked and it is the same as the one above. Will have to test it when there is somebody in the room. Edited March 29, 2013 by Freebird
Freebird Posted March 30, 2013 Author #24 Posted March 30, 2013 Yea, I tried it last night. I'm working with the software company to try and find a solution.
