Well, I just got cleaned up from doing the lowering of the front forks. MAN what a job. I read probably 5 different threads and all said it was an easy or fairly easy job. No such luck for me. I kept reading about once you get the front half of fairing off only 2 more nuts then is comes apart. Well either it wasnt said in the write up or I missed. But I dont recall anything about having to unbolt the bracket around the headlight at the bottom then you got to figure out how to get them screws on the back side that go ito the handelbars. ARGH, Then I had a heck of a time getting the forks to go up, they slide down fine, up was another thing all together. Well its all back together except the front part of the faring, I have acouple more things I would like to do while its apart. Mainly see if I can put my headlight modulator in. So to the part about this thread. So I got all the steering bits together and I'm sort of picking up tools etc I hear the mail man. So I stroll out to the mail box. To my suprise my risers are here. Figures I'd have the handle bars and stuff all back together. Oh well allways tomorrow.

1/27 So I installed the risers today. That took a little creative thought process. Man them wires/cables are snug. On my 900 when I added risers you didnt have to change cables but you did have to pull one fork tube down and slip the cables beind (under) the triple tree. I was considering that here also but I saw that the actual restriction was the throttle cable around the faring bracket.

Something to watch for when doing this, when you are checking your full range of steering left and right. If you have the light bar check you wires going to that. Make sure they havent got in the way of the stops. I guess mine got over against the stop and somwhere between when I put it all together and made sure lights turn signals horn etc worked and a trip around the blcok and tight manuvering a wire got piched and blew the fuse for the headlight.

Bike feels more comfortable from just the little I rode around the neighborhood. The bars are more comfortable and hard to tell on the lowering of the front end but I think I like it.

Ugh... Just my luck.

Just washed up from installing my new Baron's riser extensions. Sat down and found this:

Oh well. One of you guys will probably pick these up. Lots less than the least expensive source I could find.

I am SEMI happy with the way they fit. At full lock, they deform the tupperware around the ignition switch. I guess this is why they make a disclaimer about chrome ignition switch surrounds. At the very worst, the plastic will break. That's still lots cheaper than new handlebars, cables, hydraulic lines, etc. Thats the bad.

The good is that now I can ride without any worry about the brake or clutch levers binding on my big old knees. The bike fits me a lot better. We'll be going on a long ride on Sunday to check it out!

I'm still getting use to the "squeak" or whatever it makes when I have it in a hard turn. Mostly out of the garage or backing out of a parking spot. I dont think there will be much cause for alarm in normal conditions.

Glad you got your all finnished up. Man to bad I wasnt still looking for a set, that would be a good price.
