Condor Posted January 16, 2012 #1 Posted January 16, 2012 Why do I get duplicate new post notices emailed to me every once in a while?? Sometimes there's a bunch and sometimes only a couple, and then nothing for sometimes months. I don't think it's my ISP, or Website host, as it only happens with the new post notices??? It doesn't cause any issues... just wondering..

Yammer Dan Posted January 16, 2012 #3 Posted January 16, 2012 Jack.... someone out there just wants to make sure you don't miss anything .... Or that you do miss some things....
Cougar Posted January 16, 2012 #4 Posted January 16, 2012 Its the no back-ground gremlin I bet !! 3 of us so far have experienced it. very scary !
Eck Posted January 16, 2012 #5 Posted January 16, 2012 Did you at one time subscribe to a certain subject / Post.....? If so, maybe that is why you are notified every time a new post is posted on that subject or thread..

In this case I get duplicates of the same reply, not from different replies....
dingy Posted January 16, 2012 #7 Posted January 16, 2012 You subscribe to every thread you post to? That has got to be a lot of notifications, as you are one of the more active members. Gary
Cougar Posted January 16, 2012 #8 Posted January 16, 2012 You automaticly subscribe yourself to a thread you post to, you have to un-subscribe if you dont want to be notified. that's how I gatta do it.
Condor Posted January 16, 2012 Author #9 Posted January 16, 2012 You subscribe to every thread you post to? That has got to be a lot of notifications, as you are one of the more active members. Gary Sure... Although some of them I'll unsubscribe when they start becoming a 'chat room'... You know the kind... As far as getting a lot of notices, it all depends on how technical they become, and how much I can learn. Most are one or two reply threads, and will drift off into subscription history.....
