I could have sworn I posted this, but I can't find it anywhere.

I must be getting old!

Does anyone have a 1st Gen radion button they want to part with?

My 84 is missing the intercom volume button & it's really driving me nuts.

Let me know. Appreciate the help.

Food for thought..:whistling:

You can stop at any Radio Shack...(take radio with you...)

They have an assortment of knobs, many different sizes, and they even have CHROME knobs...:cool10:

Any body have any suggestions on what (and how) to replace the "microphone" cover between the radio knobs on the radio.?

(Volume sensor?) It seems like paper and ripped way too easy

I replaced my microphone cover with a piece of black cloth. Take the unit apart and you can glue the new piece on the inside of the cover.

I'm sure a small piece of speaker cloth from an old stereo speaker cabinet would do well for that!

It was originally a special kind of waterproof fabric. I would think PU Coated Cordura or nylon would make a water resistant replacement, while still transmitting sound.

Not to threadjack......I have been looking for months for the little push button on that unit that is under the H-PH. They have tiny fingers on the underside that break off. I have asked here before with no success.

For the microphone cover, I used a piece of wetsuit material, cut it to size and then sliced it's thickness way down... hasn't hampered the volume/ambient performance. Just got a scrap from a diving shop.

These appear on Ebay every so often. It might be your best bet to pick up the entire controller. Then you'll have lots of spares... :)

For the microphone cover I just use a small piece of an old sheet and after it's reassembled drop some 90W oil on it to make it waterproof. As far as the mike mute switch, they are the same buttons as on the tuner controller and cassette deck...
