dunvilsteev Posted December 29, 2007 #1 Posted December 29, 2007 Do I have to purchase the chrome rails that go around the side (not on the lid) of the saddlebags from Yamaha? Do other manufacturers fit? Also, does the set shown in the Yammie catalogue for the Royal Star, they come to a point on the front, fit the RSV? Thanks.
star4772 Posted December 29, 2007 #2 Posted December 29, 2007 Buy from here good price http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/ $161.27 at yamaha $214.00. Good Luck Joe
Joopster55 Posted December 29, 2007 #3 Posted December 29, 2007 Check out ebay. But be patient. The best ebay link is the one on this site.
M61A1MECH Posted December 29, 2007 #4 Posted December 29, 2007 If you take that price from Seattle Sports Plaza to Roush Accessories at https://www.rickroushaccessories.com/store/index.php they will beat it. I have done this for several items and Roush always beats the best internet price I can find.
dunvilsteev Posted December 30, 2007 Author #5 Posted December 30, 2007 Thanks I will definitely look into these areas, it would seem that I HAVE to go Yamaha, so my best route is finding the best price. Thanks again.
kantornado Posted January 4, 2008 #6 Posted January 4, 2008 I like the one's on mine cause there different and that's what I was looking for. I bought them from a guy who told me they were for a RSTD and would fit my RSV so I gave him $50.00 and guess what they would not fit my VENTURE til I modified them so I really don't know what bike there for. I had to add about 1 inch to the end to make them fit. I looked at the ones for the Road King Classic and really liked them but would of still had to modify them besides I saved $160.00. The RKC are really cool looking and will give a classic line to the RSV IMO. If you have some bike salvage yards around you see if they will let you play around with some different rails to find what you want and buy a new set and modify................................Ron
yamahamer Posted January 4, 2008 #7 Posted January 4, 2008 Check out ebay. But be patient. The best ebay link is the one on this site. I GOT MINE FOR $20.00 ON E-BAY BUT YOU DO HAVE TO BE PATIENT AND LUCKY!
Pilot Posted January 4, 2008 #8 Posted January 4, 2008 When it comes time to install them try this link from Freebird to modify their mounting position. I did it on my 07 and it looks much better then using the original mounting position. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6365&highlight=saddlebag+side+rail
