GolfVenture Posted January 8, 2012 #1 Posted January 8, 2012 My son when he returns from his 4th Afgan Tour wants to get a Ducati Monster 696. Does anyone have any experience on this bike?
Squidley Posted January 10, 2012 #3 Posted January 10, 2012 I dont personally have any experience with Ducati's, but they dont call them "Monster" for nothing. A well deserved "Thank You" for your son as well
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted January 10, 2012 #4 Posted January 10, 2012 My son when he returns from his 4th Afgan Tour wants to get a Ducati Monster 696. Does anyone have any experience on this bike? I have a friend that owns the local Ducati dealership. I do not know alot about them other than they are very expensive to purchase and to maintain. I do believe it can be argued they are one of the best sport bikes on the road. I believe that one has to be as good of a rider as the bike is at being a sport bike. If your son has limited experiance I would recommend an advance rider training program go with the new bike. I would hate it if your son made it 4 tours and did not out live the monster. And as Sqidley said...... A well deserved "Thank You" for your son as well
CaptainJoe Posted January 10, 2012 #5 Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) not that expensive... in fact pretty reasonable... http://www.motorcycle.com/specs/ducati/standard/2011/monster/696.html A Ducati Monster 696: 0-60 mph: 3.92 sec. top speed 120-132 depending on source +1 on having him take the advanced rider course... RedRider Posted January 10, 2012 #7 Posted January 10, 2012 Ducati's are pure motorcycle porn. Beautiful, just beautiful. And as Squidley said - Thank you to your son. RR
