That had me confused a bit too. I was looking at the end of the caps and thought there was a screw or bolt under the end of the grips. Not so!! Go get a simple strap wrench....and just screw the end caps off(actually they are weights) I even contacted another member about those end caps.......so yes they do just screw off. You might could do it with a scrap section of leather and some pump pliers.......to be safe.....a strap wrench will do it without marring the original caps. Hope you enjoy the grips......have a Happy New Year too. Take Care.......Kit

After getting the end caps off I used WD 40 and stuck the straw up under the rubber, sprayed a little, twisted some and ran it further up sprayed some more and it twisted right off.

Actually, if you remove the little caps off the end of the weights, there is a place to insert an Allen wrench to unscrew them. As for getting the grips off, I simply took a very thin bladed screw driver, worked it between the rubber and the bars and then worked it all the way around. They then just pulled right off. Of course, you only have to do that on the left side. The ride side just slides off.

Hey Don......you sure??? Okay.......what are those caps made of? Metal. plastic.......the ones on the ends of the weights.....that was my first instinct, but just did not seem like they were meant to come off, in fact had decided they were just decoration..........sure did not want to tear them up.....is that cap a plastic one like the one in the rear frame you remove to install the saddle bag guard rails or is it metal?

Use a sharp object, like a precision screwdriver or a pointy knife, and it will pry right off. Be careful though...its plastic!

I beleive thats an 8mm allen wrench that unscrews the end weight.

It will spoil you.........did me......now if I could just combine the two........would be the perfect bike.
